Wow. I don't remember setting a red line. I must have done it in my sleep.

I heard this on NPR just as I was stepping out of the car at work. I got out rambling like a lunatic because I was so shocked at what I heard. If I get drug tested today, it's gotta be because of my parking lot tirade this morning.

He also said it wasn't his credibility on the line but the credibility of Congress and the International community.

Then I guess the rest of the world hates the line they set, since they are all opposed to it?

The funny thing is that the whole reason we are on the potential brink of starting a regional war is because words have no consequence to him. Now, he denies even using them it appears (or worse, says he was speaking on behalf of the world). He wasn't speaking on behalf of Russia, China, Syria or Iran (about half the world's population).

We have put together a range of contingency plans. We have communicated in no uncertain terms with ever player in the region that that's a red line for us, that there would be enormous consequences if we start seeing movement on the chemical weapons front or the use of chemical weapons. That would change my calculations significantly.

How can you say something publicly and then say you didn't say it and not expect the world to think you a fool?.

re: "I did not set a red line...the world did". (Obama, this morn)

I knew what Obama was (and was likely going to be) in 2008. That was the ONLY reason I voted for McCain (whom I have loathed for years).

However, when he first got into office, while I "hoped he'd fail" because his policies were anathema to the Constitution and what the USA has been historically (a la Limbaugh), I thought he was a likeable guy. Even when I would complain about him and my kids would ask me if I hated him, I would say, I hate his policies, but I don't know enough about him personally to hate him and he's probably a nice person.

That said, over time, with his unfettered arrogance, his ceaseless and unabashed lying, his utter contempt for the Constitution (both his, and his entire Administration), and his glee in being able to get away with all of it because of the legions of his cockgobblers in the media, I can say without hesitation that I truly hate the man, and the sooner he, and his entire corrupt Administration, has been removed from power, the better.

April 2013 "White House official"

quote:

We go on to reaffirm that the President has set a clear red line as it relates to the United States that the use of chemical weapons or the transfer of chemical weapons to terrorist groups is a red line that is not acceptable to us, nor should it be to the international community. It's precisely because we take this red line so seriously that we believe there is an obligation to fully investigate any and all evidence of chemical weapons use within Syria.
...it is absolutely the case that the President's red line is the use of chemical weapons...

And this one is especially devastating:

And the people in Syria and the Assad regime should know that the President means what he says when he set that red line. And keep in mind, he is the one who laid down that marker. He's the one who directed that we provide this information to the public. And he's the one who directed that we do everything we can to further investigate this information so that we can establish in credible, corroborated, factual basis what exactly took place.

Very well put.

When Carter got elected; I had hopes for the man even thought I voted for Ford. I bought into his BS and it even made me feel good to see Jimmy and Rosalyn walking down Pennsylvania Ave. on inauguration day.

I quickly learned that what you see is only a thin veneer. Jimmy (a man of the people) was dangerous and we quickly saw what happened in his four years.

Obama reminded me of Jimmy, but this time I had experience to tell me not to buy in to the veneer. Obama is dangerous and worse than Carter.

You nailed it buddy.
