Several of the 1st half play action pass plays: Mett would sort of pop upright like he was going to pass, then fake the hand-off deep in the backfield (fake draw), then pass.

Which, in the 3rd Q (5 mins left), set up an actual draw play to Blue (13yards), followed by another fake draw (pass out the back of the endzone), followed by another actual draw (Magee, 10yards).

Next, bunch formation twice for no / little gain. 3rd and goal, spread formation for the obvious pass play .. but noooo, we run Magee up the middle for 6.

The game plan / play calling in that drive was $$.

Yep, TCU linbackers were shooting in on any sign of a running play and turning and running on any sign of passing play. The draws and delays opened up huge holes, because of this.

and this is what a good OC does, it really is about exploiting advantages and execution. Not so much the secret plays.

I loved the play action run. I find it rare.

Running from the spread was the key to success against TCU for sure.

I think it was important, but I believe the key was Mett hitting JL and OB Jr*. on out patterns and deep. When we did line up in the spread, they had to respect it.

* and C Neighbors, the fullback. Don't forget we hit him once for a couple of yards .. on a play action fake to Blue.

Yeah man. We actually ran plays to set up others. Makes me wonder what that end around was setting up.

A reverse, which in turn sets up the double reverse and then eventually....the short-side option.

I kept thinking that sooner or later we'd start throwing on first down since they were selling out to stop that first down run play.

Chris Stasiak (Georgia Writer) Commented : 29 mins ago UGA ran it’s bread-and-butter play the “Isolated toss sweep” twice for 100+ yards and a TD and never ran it again the rest of the game. We threw to our ALL-SEC Tight ends twice?? We ran the ball all three times on 1st and goal from the 5yd line?? Our OL was swiss cheese all night to one of the lesser D lines we face. Just think what USCe or LSU is going to do to Murray. I know we played 9-10 true freshman on Defense at some point over the course of the game but the fundamentals like tackling were horrible. I do agree having Josh Harvey-Clemmons suspended was huge. Missing MM was huge. UGA certainly had it’s opportunities to win. A 1-3 start to the season is not too far a stretch.

Ga writer complaining about their lack of off. plays and off. linemen. Yes, draw plays off the play action draw were money, so was Mett on 3rd down and long.
