Sure all players/team personnel knew who was being cut and the decisions were made long before he attended the game. Not a big deal IMO and he should go and root for Clemson his son is a wide receiver on the team.

I've never heard of a head coach not being there for final cuts. Every coach is there to thank the players they cut for trying out and working hard for them in training camp

Sean Payton was on a flight to Dallas Friday night.

The HC doesn't talk to every player that's cut and the decisions were likely made last week.

Yea I'm willing to bet the players knew before cut day as Ryan or staff informed them then.

You had better bring extra supplies, I'm sure he did some work.

while I cant stand the jets or rex, this is nothing more than the media trying hard to make a story out of nothing.

the guys kid is apparently on the team. who the hell cares? I applaud the guy for going.

They weren't on hardknocks so there was no reason for rex to stay and mug for the cameras.

i dont like rex but ill give him a lot of credit here. according to the jets all decisions were already made, and in case of any surprises he was merely a phone call away. they said he even met with most guys the day before even if the announcements were not made public until saturday.

with all the stories we hear about coaches not being able to support their families beyond the obvious financial perks - its great to hear that he took time to be there for his son. im sure it meant a TON to both he and his family. shame on any media giving it a negative spin. especially given 2 nfl head coaches losing children so recently.
