Its one of my favorite shows atm. This season has been spectacular and love the direction it is heading in. If you havent seen the last episode then you are missing out, was the best thus far IMO.

I enjoy it as well. But when we did have threads about it here it got hijacked by people who bitched about it constantly and never wanted to talk about he actual show just how much they hated Sorkin/Liberals/etc.

What a load of crap. The show is overtly liberal and hamfisted.

I had zero problem with West Wing. One of my top shows ever.

The premise of this show was pure crap in season 1. A conservative who spends his entire life attacking conservatives he disagrees with while not ONE FREAKING TIME making any statements about democrats or the loony fringes of their party.

The show is all about politics so I honestly can't think why a discussion of the show WOULDN'T become political.

Other than the dishonesty of most of you because you simply agree with libtards.

I brought up plenty of valid points about why season 1 sucked but the only rebuttal I received is I shouldn't watch it or I should stop worrying about politics.

IT'S A FRACKING POLITICAL SHOW!

The show sucked. The actors were almost universally terrible. Fonda was bad. Sam Waterson, a guy I almost always like was pathetic. It seems his character is supposed to use frick 30 times an episode.

The humor was borderline high school antics. The love plots were terrible. Hell, the romances on SBTB were more realistic. At least they were in high school so they had an excuse for behaving like 14 year olds.

I'll still watch season 2 when it is done and if it has improved I might like it, but stop the nonsense about how I shouldn't pay any attention to the actual CONTENT of the show or the OBVIOUS agenda.

Final point.... once again, the premise is flawed. If Will was a democrat out to push evil Republicans out of the way, it would make sense.

A conservative spending all of his energy to attack other conservatives isn't a real character.

Camile Paglia is close. She spends tons of time attacking her own party, but she also opens up on Republicans the most. Will never attacks liberals.

Hell, even if he jumped ship and became a dem, that would make more sense. As written, season 1 was flawed with too many juvenile relationships and sophomoric humor.

Having said that, I hope season 2 is better. When Sorkin is good, he typically is very good.

I love that the show claims to be this balanced view of what the news should be while the content is all slanted liberal. Aaron Sorkin isn't half as smart as he thinks he is.

Not sure it ever mentions anything about being balanced.

It is more about doing real news and not cream puff stories or sensationalistic stories.

This however brings us back to the show not being realistic. I imagine just about any producer would be fired if he failed to cover the number 1 story of the night because it was sensationalistic.

Find me a network in reality that wouldn't cover those stories. They don't exist. I get that is part of what Will wants to achieve, but the reality is that sensationalism gets ratings. If you don't have ratings, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

If the show ends with ratings tanking and Will being shown the door, then ok but don't somehow have his ratings spike because he is doing just the good old news.

Absolutely agree re: West Wing. Much better.

What pisses me off is that it could be a great show and instead it is agenda driven drivel. Plus instead of just being totally in your face, Sorkin uses a "moderate Republican" to spew crap about conservatives. I don't mind a lefty slant, but the great thing about West Wing was that they'd occasionally let the conservative character dominate on an issue (Ainsley on gun control, for example).

Jake Tapper eviscerated Newsroom in his review, and I totally agree with everything he said. Same thing happened with Game Change, these idiots are so obsessed with pushing an agenda that they'll push an inferior product.

Same for Hollywood. See "Green Zone." Oh, a liberal WAR movie. Hipsters don't see war movies, morons.

Funny you posted this today. Last night I watched S2 Eps 2-7 back to back (I had seen Ep1 a few weeks ago).

Show still sucks - and it has nothing to do with politics. The only positive is that Eps 2-5 were much more toned down from the over the top hyperbole and mind numbing dialogue that plagues every other episode.

The show tries way too hard to be witty and controversial and instead comes off as grandiose and unrealistic.

I'll still watch the remaining on the season on demand at some point, but it's certainly not worthy of dvr space let alone calendar watching.

I like it but I never watch it on Sunday Night. Really no reason to discuss it here because you can't get three posts before someone cries about politics.

This show sucks because the political slant is so fricking obvious and its about a conservative who attacks other conservatives like Santorum and Bachman and that's about it. That would be fine except they never focus on anything the liberals do like the loony ones like Pelosi and Feinstein.

This show would be great it it was centered around a libertarian who hates republicans and democrats and they could model the main character after someone like Judge Andre Napolitano.

When a shows political slant is so obvious and lopsided, people can't respect the show much less like it.

ETA: I'm a libertarian who hates liberals and conservatives.
