A can think of a different Super Bowl QB who would be a better analogy. Trent Dilfer.

Maybe that's why we've had

the ultra conservative offensive scheme

You could have compared JLee in 2011 to Trent Dilfer, yes. Same type of team.

I see what you guys are saying now...

No way. Dilfer didn't have the arms of Flaaco and Mettenberg.

Flacco has a great arm but Boldin and Rice made him what he is and they overpaid him. He is still a glorified game manager, I'll take Mett anyday with the o-line improving.

The same Flacco that couldn't hack it at Pitt and transferred to Delaware? Yes. If you want to compare apples to apples.

BS to the a lot of it.

If the players on the field execute both offensive and defensive schemes, we don't lose to Alabama and if we don't lose to Alabama in the last fricking minute of the game do to defensive player frick ups we play in our second BCS bowl game in a row.

good point...signing Zach Lee, Mett, Jennings, Rettig and getting Harris to commit in the last 3 years isn't going to cut it.

A lot of true Tiger fans are frustrated with the last few years because of the offense...and rightfully so....the QB position has definitely under performed. Any body that hasn't seen that needs to step away from the opium pipe...lol...But most astute observers think that Cam can get that rectified...starting with this year.I think that it all depends on Mett's ability to absorb and execute what he is being taught...just how coachable is Mett...we're going to find out in just a few days now! And if he doesn't get the job done to satisfy Cam, don't be shocked if Jennings gets a look sooner than later!

There are lots of reasons why our offense has not been very good for several years, no screen game- that allows a defense to blitz, blitz and blitz. Many times our qb has no chance. Very few passes to tight ends, too conservative/predictable, no real offensive coordinator, CLM not allowing the coordinator to make all the calls, lack of qb talent and depth (until now finally). The biggest problem we've had is keeping defenses on their heels. Cameron understands this and defenses will not be able to load the box on us like they have.

That's true and probably why we have had four OC since 2010. That and the fact that the OC we hired for the 2011 season got sick and we had to scramble at the last minute and promote from within.

I hope Cam and Zack waste the SEC and I think Cam has the ability to finally help us put a complete offense on the field, but any thinking our problems have been only scheme related is fooling themselves.

I thought Zach had turned the corner with the Alabama game, but his Arkansas and Clemson performances left me shaking my head and I can't put all that on scheme.

Cam seems pleased with Jennings' play, but I will be scared shitless if we have to go with a true freshman in SEC games.

I fell for this crap last year, won't do it again. I hope Mett has an exceptional year but I won't hold my breath.

What I am trying to say is there is MUCH more that goes into winning a MNC in CFB. Comparing our QB to an NFL QB that is allowed to lose regular season games and has to go through a playoff is a bit laughable to me.
he is comparing mett to flaco as far as arm strength and throwing ability....not to the ravens...wow your an idiot...

Jennings seems to have his head screwed on straight...he's stated that he's spending huge time in the film room with Cam learning all he can...and Cam seems to really think highly of him already...we won't know until he gets out there under the bright lights. Mett seems to saying all the right things so far and he certainly has all the physical ability of a pro QB...but as a guy who studies personalities as a hobby, I won't think he has exorcised all his demons until I see it on the field over several games. I'm sure pulling for him to carry us to the promised land...for his sake and of course the Tigers! I can't stand us losing to Shorty! This team has a high ceiling if the QB does his job...any QB!

Don't care much about his arm strength . We know he got it
Can he move in the pocket when he is under pressure ? Does he have an improved foot work ?
If not , it's gonna be the same as last year

Please do. Keep holding until the light disappears and don't wake up when the offense is in full swing.

Offense is going to shock a lot of people this year.

If Cam is as sharp as we think he is, he will get the maximum out of Copeland this year, both blocking and receiving. TEs are going to play a bigger role this year. And WRs seem to be more upbeat. Let's face it, the pressure is on Mett to make this offense click as designed. There's no way around that fact. RBs are going to be OK. Mett is going to have to lead, not by talking a good game, but by playing the good games...like Cool Hand Luke would say, "Got my head on straight, Boss!" God, let's hope so! But I'll say it again, the staff seems to want to push Jennings as fast as he can take it...hopefully to get him some playing time for next years campaign. I'm not getting ahead of myself, it's just the way it comes across to me. JMhO
