gg/dr/tl/dr whatever...

New offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, who tends not to be prone to exaggeration, sees virtually everything he would want in the strong-armed, fifth-year senior from Watkinsville, Ga., however.

“He can throw a football. There is no throw that this kid can’t make,” Cameron said. “None. I don’t like to make comparisons, but he throws a football a lot like Joe Flacco.”

Joe Flacco is an upgrade to what we've seen the last 4 years. I'll take it.

Trade JJ/Lee in for Flacco and LSU is sitting on 3 BCSNC's the last 4 years.

Just saying.

I know our offense has been pretty mediocre to bad, QB play hasn't been great the past 5 years. But a lot of it can be contributed to the ultra conservative offensive scheme. We were very predictable and half the time we only had two guys running routes from the I. Although there isn't much I can say when receivers cant create seperation, or the qb constantly overthrows his receivers. Its a collective effort as a group. Just our scheme itself would make it difficult for even the greatest quarterbacks to have success.

I think Cam will help improve Mett, but the younger guys will really see the benefit given more time.

I said the same. Same long rangy build. Almost same height. Strong, powerful arm. Give him No 5 and stick him in in place of Flaaco and hard to tell the difference. But if he can get him playin like Flaaco I'm satisfied.

Not really, not that it even matters. Cameron was comparing their throwing ability, and Flacco has an elite ability to throw the ball.

No need for comparisons like that.

Maybe that's why we've had

We had "Flacco" last year.

Why no MNC?

Oh yeah, even Flacco lost some tough regular season games. In fact, last year, Flacco lost three in a row at one point, I believe.

Hence the reason why the CFB regular season is so important....for some teams anyway.

I don't know. I think Flaaaaaaaco is pretty good. I don't think that Flaaaaaaaaaaaco is elite at the NFL level or worth what he just got paid, but Flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaco is not a bad QB to be compared to.

I didn't say Flaaco was elite. Just compared Mettenberg to him. Flaaco can play and wouldn't mind Mettenberg imitate that. Get rid of the ball fast. Know where the pass rushers are and don't take needless sacks. All things I'm sure Cameron is workin on.

In terms of raw talent, sure. But in terms of development using raw talent-no way.

Well, IMO, AJMc is about on par with Mett.

Especially the AJMc that lost "the game of the century".

What I am trying to say is there is MUCH more that goes into winning a MNC in CFB. Comparing our QB to an NFL QB that is allowed to lose regular season games and has to go through a playoff is a bit laughable to me.

But I agree about development. He will be better this year, but I don't think that translates into MNC.

Mett loses ONE regular season game, especially in the SEC, LSU will not play for the title. Too many media darlings with easy schedules ahead of us.
