Anyone ever buy these things?

It was raining while I was in the grocery store, so I stayed in there longer and ended up with these things

Crackers? They probably taste like canned oysters

I feel like that can't be good.

It's translated via google so some of the translation is weird... but you should get the gist of it.

Canned snails are just fine. Rinse them. Sautée shallot and garlic , hit with white wine, reduce, mount with butter.. Add escargot till warm. Parsley chive and a squirt of lemon to finish

There are tapas that get better the longer they've been canned.

I buy them all time. I like to stuff them in mushrooms and bake with a toasted almond, white wine, and butter sauce.

Damn near every escargot any of us have ever eaten came from a can. Just make a highly seasoned compound butter and bake or sauté them up.

I think I've eaten them twice in my life, once was in Paris...it would suck to have that scene from European Vacation be the truth.

I'll order them for my app at Ruth's Chris tonight. I'll find out if they came from a can. I bet you're right but it doesn't make them any less delicious.

Escargot are God's proof that anything will taste good if you get enough butter and parmesan cheese on it.

Love them - canned or not.

Had snails about three inches long at a bar in Tokyo one night. Best thing I ever ate.

I just finished dinner. Made a wine and butter sauce with minced onion and garlic.

I chopped up the snails and put them inside some mushrooms and put them in a muffin pan.

Drizzled the butter sauce on top and cooked for about 15-20 min.

They were surprisingly good. The texture is about the same as a mushroom so you can't even tell you are chewing on snails.

I made my wife try one and she looked like she was eating a grub on fear factor

Would eat again.

Cook them in a compound butter sauce and serve them as an appetizer. Call a restaurant supplier to see where to get shells and escargot plates.

Walmart on O”Neal has the shells on the top shelf above the canned escargot.

That happens to me sometimes, but I'm usually hungry or high. Worst case scenario is a combo of the two. Lord only knows what I'll walk out of there with.

It was between escargot and caviar for me. The best part was I asked my wife if she knew what escargot was and she said, "aren't they like snail eggs?"
