U.S. photojournalist escapes from Syrian Rebel captors, tells of horrors

These are the folks, Obama-McCain-Graham want to side with.

quote:

According to the New York Times, Schrier is one of 15 Westerners who have been kidnapped or who have disappeared this year.

The experience of Schrier illustrates the increasing dangers for foreigners and moderate Syrians in the country, which has been ravaged by a vicious civil war for more than two years, with mounting numbers of heavily armed extremist groups on the ground.

Schrier, who was kidnapped after being betrayed by his taxi driver, said his captors had initially treated him politely. But his situation rapidly deteriorated as he was regularly tortured and ordered to admit he was a CIA spy.

He was stripped and beaten with a metal cable. Schrier's captors also ran up debts with his credit card and extracted password information for his email accounts.

The captors posed as Schrier in emails sent to his relatives assuring them he was safe.

At the end of January, Schrier was transferred to another prison where he was kept with another American "who looked like he had been there for 100 years."

He was interrogated by three young masked men who spoke perfect English. Schrier said he believed the three men were Canadians.

The two prisoners were tortured after they had been discovered trying to gouge a hole in a wooden door. Schrier had a car tire placed over his legs, was turned around face down and given 115 lashes on the soles of his feet with a metal cable.

He was repeatedly ordered to admit he was a CIA agent.

"I sat there and I was like, they're just going to torture me until I say it," he told CNN. "You're going to say what they want you to say. I chose sooner than later."

Piece of cake. Just imagine if he had been subjected to enhanced interrogation techniques by Americans? Now there is some torture.

Yep. And now the administration is about to intervene on their behalf. It's a friggin joke that this is about to happen. I believe ABSOLUTELY ZERO that this President tells the citizens and press of the country.

quote:

The Pentagon is moving naval forces closer to Syria in a potential attempt to be prepared should President Obama order military strikes, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is suggesting.

The president asked the Department of Defense to put some matters in place regarding Syria, and that would include "positioning our forces," the Associated Press quotes Hagel as saying.

"The Defense Department has a responsibility to provide the president with options for contingencies, and that requires positioning our forces, positioning our assets, to be ale to carry out different options - whatever options the president might choose," Hagel said.

Sounds a little to easy or this reporter is John Rambo lol. Who tortures reporters and then let's them "escape". Especially "allies" who are giving you money. Sounds fake and set up. Either by the reporter wanting to make a really big name for their self or a different faction then the ones who they were claiming to be. Let the reporter escape so america can see who the real bad guys are. And also fricking Canadians don't torture people except with their terrible music and hockey talk. Im saying how did they know the torturers were Canadian? Did they say about or have beady little eyes and flapping heads? Maybe a yearning to listen to Celine Dion?

Now tell me again why I'm crazy for believing and saying this president is in league with Muslim fundamentalists.
His every action or lack of action visa-vi the ME says this is so.

We need to send the MSNBC staff over there for some field reporting on this issue. They should go right into the heart of the rebels and demand some answers.

I admit that when I read 115 lashes to the feet with a metal cable or whip I figured his feet would be gone.

Just let these guys have their own revolution. We don't need to be involved.

Other than him intensifying the search for Osama bin Laden & using drones to de-ball thousands of fundamentalists(even American ones)?

You have a link to that supposed increased "intensity"?

Link to where any of the three sides with this group?

I mean I realize you like to revel in hyperbole but when all three specifically say they do not side with these groups, you're actually lying and it's no longer hyperbole.

They would not be the first politicians to talk out of both sides of their collective mouths. We have no idea what they really want to happen in that region. They've been very dishonest in the past.
