Same people probably changed that tune real quick. It was one of the top 10-15 supporting actor roles of the last 30 years IMO.

we've all seen way more shitty ben affleck movies than we had heath ledger movies at that time.

I think it's one of the best acting performances I've seen. Without thinking about others movies this one always stands out in my head. Absolutely nailed it

Definitely. He was unrecognizable, and not because of the make up. His voice and his mannerisms were nothing like anything we've seen from him. He may had just been an ok actor before, but he really put in the work in that role.
I can't believe people really say that Jack Nicholson was the best joker. His joker was basically Jack Nicholson in a good mood; laughing a lot.

But on a serious note it's going to depend on the direction the directors and producers take it. Nolan made a serious comic book movie, as opposed to more traditional over the top ones. In all honesty I thought Bale was a decent Batman at best. Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Tom Wilkinson, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and of course JGL did a phenomenal job of acting beyond expectations. And Chris Nolan is the bomb.

The guy has been legit since 2006.
Furthermore:
a) He's not going to have a massive amount of screentime in this.
b) it is a comic book movie. He'll be fine.

I don't mind Affleck(sp?) being batman at all. I actually don't know why he has such a bad rap. Now I'm not sure whether he can pull it off or not but it doesn't seem like the toughest role to play.

I wouldn't expect Batman to be a side character. They wouldn't bother wasting money on bringing in a name for a small amount of screentime either
