Dumb list. Zach Lowe is a great writer but this list is Rantard bad. Utah Jazz at #6 is the most unforgivable. Jazz is itself is a good name but Utah Jazz is beyond ridix.

AGH but we should have been the Jazz and likely been even higher than 6th because it actually makes fricking sense unlike Utah.

Good read. Surprised Rockets and Jazz were that high. Finally some respect for the Pelicans.

Why? With NASA being headquartered in Houston it's one of the few that makes sense geographically. I just wish the Texans had gone with Apollos or something "spacey" to go with Rockets and Astros.

The Jazz nickname is pretty strange for a Utah team. Granted the Utah Folk would seem odd but it just doesn't fit, in fact it fits so badly they should just make a joke of the whole thing. Go with it, have a polygamist playing a saxophone on the sidelines while his six underage brides dance around in long dresses as the cheerleaders.

Happy that San Antonio went with "Spurs" instead of a long arse name like "Chapperals" or "Gunslingers." "San Antonio" is a long name already--no need to add to it.

I never realized how dumb some of the nba team names were until reading this. Pretty good stuff. i think Heat and Magic are the worst.
