I posted a few weeks back asking for some advise on where to tailgate for the TCU game. I think we will end up in Lot 11. In order to tailgate in the stadium lots you have to get there early to reserve a spot on the perimeter of the lot that has a designated tailgating spot. We are bringing our tailgate trailer and are planning on purchasing two spots. In order for our plan to work we have to get there right when the parking lots open. Does anyone know what time the lots have opened in previous years. I have called and spoken to numerous people at the stadium and none of them have a clue. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone has a better suggestion of where to tailgate that will allow enough room for a 16' cargo trailer and a few tents, please let me know.

A BAR....average temp in Dallas for end of Aug is 95 degrees. You are in a concrete parking lot so you are getting burned from above and roasted from below. YOU DO NOT want to spend the entire day in that atmosphere.

There are bars within a few blocks of the lot--go there during the peak heat and head to your spot about 4pm

Oregon game had to be near a 100 degrees and no clouds. Was in the lot for about 2 hours and even that sucked. Then your get dehydrated and end up buying 8$ Coors Lite aluminum bottles inside.

Just pony up some extra cash--spend it at the bar and save your ice chest beer for the post game celebration.

Thanks for the responses but I have to disregard most of your advice. As for the heat, I am from Louisiana and am used to being hot (parking lot or not). Yall must be from Alaska or Michigan or some cold area of the country. We will have tents and fans to help with the heat also. As for going to a bar the day of an LSU game, its almost blasphemous to even consider. We are LSU fans we show the world how to party not cram into a mediocre bar in Arlington, Texas and pay $10 a beer. I will make it work one way or another. Feel free to stop by for a beer if you can handle the heat.

I sent an e-mail inquiring about the time the parking lot will open. They responded with 3:00 p.m. but would be re-evaluated at a later time.

I sent an e-mail back asking to re-consider such a late time to open the parking lots since we wanted to tailgate and it was not worth hauling everything to Dallas for just a couple of hours of tailgating.

They later responded that the parking lot will open at 2:00 p.m. and that was the final decision.

Well for the Oregon game the lots were open at like 7-8, we tailgated all day until the game, and we were fine

ETA: Oh I'm not a bitch though so hot weather doesn't scare me inside

I'm sure I drank a beer with or near you, then. Hung out there most of the day next to the tailgate with the large stereo system.
