Why...why does every number have to become a tradition or legacy?

I hope so... Tyrann was great as a tiger but I'd like to see another tiger bring it back on the field. I personally like the honor associated with certain numbers and believe this particular number needs to be on a secondary guy post haste. Loston doesn't fit the mold but maybe one of the younger guys will pick it up next year

Nah... This is the kinda thing that the team can get behind. We may not see the significance but If Les is trying to point out leaders this is one way he does so with the team. Things like this are a big deal when it comes to internal hierarchy being recognized. Take it for what it's worth.

7 isnt even a tradition. Peterson wore it, then Tyrann.

before peterson it was highsmith and a wr named rushing and a wr named chambliss. Then a db named shultz and a qb named welker. before them it was safety adrian mayes. Before that it was trev faulk and a wr named giambelluca. then before that rb rondell mealey. Then before that de james gillyard.

The number has no significance other then tm wearing it to honor peterson. I swear some of you really werent fans before 2007.

I think it died with TM7. PP7 handed the reigns over to TM7 to keep it going. TM7 wasn't able to do the same. It would have been a cool tradition if TM7 would have handed it to someone, but sadly it didnt happen that way.

Hootie Jones has already been promised it. Nobody will wear it this season.

Stop. Just stop.

Tyrann wanted to start a tradition. His hope of that died with his expulsion.

this

because its truly neither a tradition or legacy...a player changed his number from one year to the next....thats all move on

Maybe to the fans, but it means something to the players. The next guy to wear 7 will think something of it and if he happens to be good, the following player will want it too.
