Have recently got into Milsim airsoft, and was curious if any fellow OBers played... its very addicting and very fun.

When I was in middle school we played. Then one of our neighbors got her panties in a wad because she saw me and my cousin in the front yard with them. That ended the fun.

Me and RATeamwannabe just bought a few AEG's and the equipment to play. Figured it would be a good training tool and other than the startup costs, pretty cheap. They have a big game in Marrero on the second sunday of each month, and then a few other games that range in size all around SELA.

Check out the RSVP section on this FORUMit is a local board like this one but of course does not have quite the traffic but it is good info. The airsoft community in Louisiana is suprisingly active and they gear toward milsim. They are talking about having a big milsim gameat the MOUT city by Alexandria next month.

I am going to the local game here in Lake Charles next saturday. Ironsights Airsoft is hosting Operation: Aftermath, should be a lot of fun.

Seems like the game was a little slow last weekend from what I hear. I have not played a game yet, I thought the big game at Ironsoft was Aug 30-31st? Is there something going on next weekend? I need to find somewhere to play.

your right it is Saturday the 31st. The Second Sunday Shootout was very slow... there was one final assult the last hour and that was the only firefight i was in. My squad began the game defending a satellite for 2 and half hours and didnt see a soul.

Seems like it would be fun, similar to paintball. Is it played the same way, how do you get out, honor system that you have been hit?

Yes airsoft is really all about honor. Most games there are admins that monitor people callling their hits and enforcing rules. There are 2 types of airsoft: Milsim and CQB. paintball is more like CQB

If I had more time I would diff be interested. What is a ballpark start up price? Milslim, this is like what, military training type shite. Defense and offense teams?

Milsim is short for Military Simulation. The host usually has a strategy for each team(ie. US Forces vs. Taliban or Russian Fed.). You have a main mission and side objectives, just like if you were in a actual war.
