I think he has a chance, Howard will be 32. But Andre Drummond shows promise but I think Davis could be the best center in 5 years. What do you guys think ?

Will he be a center, though?

He could end up being primarily a power forward who can slide over in some lineups, like Duncan, rather than a full-time center.

Glad you posted this.

The 5-on-5 debate article, posted today, has some believe his ideal playing weight is still coming. If thats the case..and Anderson is kept, then yes Davis will play at least 50% of his time at the Center position.

He will be a better version of what Bosh does in Miami.

I would hope so, Bosh was ABUSED during the playoffs.

Not if the hybrid 3/4 continues to play there. He's a small ball 5 right now. If he adds another 20 lbs, he's a center every night.

I just don't like the chriw bosh comparison at all

AD has a wider frame and already weighs around as much as c bosh.

Davis will be shooting a lot of jumpers in his career.

So will most PFs. Does lamarcus aldridge sit under the rim sll game?

AD can rebound, block shots like a boss, and defend some 3s and 5s

I think it's important he add strength, but weight gets brought up too much. At least not in the way people seem to mean. He's never going to be banger. Just needs to be able to hold his ground.

He can achieve that while just being in the 240 range. He's long enough to bother shots regardless.

I think I posted this yesterday. Strength is more important for AD than bulk.

League is changing. Joakim Noah is listed at 230. He holds his own pretty well.

The way the Pelicans roster is set up, the team seems to believe Davis is ready to anchor the middle playing next to Anderson. They could be wrong and decide they have to move Anderson, but they appear to at least be willing to give it a shot at this point in time.

LaMarcus is also play small ball 5.

Guys like him can't guard the hybrid 4s of the world(LeBron,Melo,Durant)...Davis is rim protector first and foremost, guarding guys like that who stretch out to the perimeter takes your rim protector out of position. Offensively, he'll stretch the floor as a spot up shooter, but doesn't have the handle to take fours off the dribble. He'll also get every post touch a big gets in NOLA. Added strength with his quickness, will allow a physical advantage over even centers like Howard.

The comparison to Bosh is there because Miami is a small ball team and Davis can do all of those things.

Think a mash up of Hakeem/Duncan/Bosh. There will be struggles(against guys in the Bynum mold), but the 5 is his destiny.
