Cabelas has some pretty good ones in stock, coupla price ranges to choose from.
I've had some Food Saver models that seem to last about 2 hours AFTER the warranty expired..

Cabelas big unit is fine. Been running mine for about 10 years.

Yeah, had some experience with the FoodSaver recently and it seemed fickle.

I have the Weston Pro 2200. About 400. All I have used it for sous vide.

I've got a basic $100 Food Saver that I've had for about 6 years that's still doing the job for me.
As much as I like buying meat in bulk, freezing, then vacuum packing, resealing bags of chips and the like saves more food than I do from sealing stuff going into the freezer. Typically, I cook the freezer stuff before it's going to get squirrely anyway.

lots of comments on there. but from many people getting different stages of the prototypes. i cant find it for sale anymore, i guess now that the kickstarter 'goal' has been reached they are gonna start marketing it and selling it through other channels?

Similar experience here. I've had mine for 10 years and I think its finally time to get a new one.

Foodsaver works well but overheats every 6-7 bags... Will not buy again

My food savers always lasted about 2 hours AFTER the warranty ran out.
