Kenny Hilliard was beastly in 2011. I was hoping for great things from him last year, but he really struggled. What will it take for him to get better? Has anyone heard anything about him?

We will need the depth.

Getting him the ball more first off. But if blue and hill are both in game Hilliard won't be getting to many touches

Don't know, but he runs for 120+ and 2 TD against TCU

He actually had a higher ypc average in 2012 (5.7) than in 2011 (5.4).

His focus to be on football, which it should be this year.

Watching the LSU-Georgia game in 2011 and Hilliard and Blue were really good in the second half. Hoping to see that again this year.

He got off to a great start last year. The emergence of Jeremy Hill, and probably the birth of his kids affected his play. I think he can turn it around this year with more reps, and less distractions.

Hopefully he's more settled in his family life now. I think having his twins last year was just too big a load to deal with in conjunction with football...as I think it would for any 20 year old.

He gets better with more carries and as the defense gets tired. He is a load to tackle when those arms start to turn to rubber.

His stats are actually better than j hills. Numbers don't lie

Les usually gives reps to the RBs that have good weeks in practice, so if he is doing well he will get his reps.

One was getting carries vs IDaho while the other was getting them vs Bama.

One of them carrying the whole load bc of no QB
The other having huge holes to run with with a good QB.

Hilliard was carrying the load even though he wasn't the starter? I like the both, I was just saying that it is silly to look at their stats and act like Hilliard is the superior back based on those numbers without any context.

He's already shed some weight. I think he's making football a priority and going to crack skulls this year.

I think Hilliard's drop off was directly related to Hill's rise.

I partly agree. I think it had a lot to do with the birth of his kids and that would be a distraction for any loving person.

I'm not an athlete but I remember when my niece was born. I couldn't wait to spend even more time with her.

It would certainly be understandable.

But Blue came on strong. I'm glad they're both Tigers.

I didn't even realize he had kids last year.

Not trying to call you out in particular, everyone in this thread is talking out if their arse in true rant fashion.

Truth is Hilliard was hurt for most of the season last year. Even though he was playing, he wasn't 100%. He will be fine this year, and Frank will go with the hot hand as always.
