Grilling pineapple question

My wife cut the pineapple into small chunks and i decided that i want to grill it. Can i put it in tin foil and put on the grill and get the same effect as putting it directly on the grill? TIA

completely different results. you want to place it on the grates in order to char/caramelize the outside. placing or wrapping it in tin foil you're simply baking and/or steaming it.

For a tasty twist, baste it with a little coconut milk.

Are the chunks large enough to put on a skewer?

I like the direction of this thread...

dunno why this completely slipped my mind! great idea! how long do you keep them on the grill? everything i've read says long enough to get grill marks or about 90 seconds per side...

Just depends on how hot your grill is. I like some marks and caramelization on mine, but I usually do slices which is a bit easier. I would turn them a bit and you can judge by look.

The ol' lady loves it when I do soak pineapple in rum and brown sugar and grill it... the kids go straight to bed after supper.
