I was rooting around the house yesterday taking stock of some things and I realized my muzzleloader, er .35 Whelen, is missing.

I can't find it anywhere. Has anyone ever just lost a gun? I think I lent it to a buddy but he can't seem to find it either...

It's in a hard black case and I can't post a pic because gun sites are blocked at work. It's a CVA. If you have seen it, I'll buy you a beer.

Bad news. It was almost certainly used in a drive-by already.

A CVA Stalker used in a driveby? Is it okay if I laugh while imagining what that would look like?

First you have to get past the image of them trying to figure out how to load it.

That said, I tried to google "Muzzleloader gangsta" and found this:

Yeah, I thought about it being used in a crime, but then I thought about the weapon.

Yep, drove off with a Ruger .22 pistol on the bumper of my truck when I was in college.

I lost a remington 1100 12 gauge.

The wife and I bought a house in Sherwood Forest in 2000 and moved from some apartments on O'neal Lane. I had probably 20 long guns laying against the side of the building putting them in the truck a few at a time. Only thing I can figure is that I left it leaning there.

I didn't notice it missing until a month or two later when I went to get it out to go hunting.

It still pisses me off to this day that I could be so stupid

In a lake off the Mississippi when we went to catch up with a crippled mallard. I chased the duck down then shot it, after picking it up we went back to the blind. Once back at the blind I noticed my shotgun was not in the boat. Looked and looked but it's not hard to exhaust a search of a 15ft. boat when looking for a full sized scatter gun.

For about two weeks I thought I had lost my SBE II. Most nervous/scared I've ever been regarding a possession. Luckily it was just in a friend's safe.

I loaned, well my brother or myself (still don't know who) loaned a 20 gauge to someone and it was lost for about 7 years. Eventually it was returned.

I loaned a buddy one of my shotguns to kill ducks with on Wham Brake (NELA boys know how cruddy this water was) back in the 70's. He got it completely wet and stuck it in the case and gave it back to me a week later!!!!
There was a severe case of arse whuppin took place that day in his mommys kitchen. So, for all intents and purposes, it was lost, paper mill water made it unrecognizable...
