I'm looking at playing around with some penny stocks. Looking to invest about $500, or maybe split it and invest $250 in two different companies. Looking at stocks in the .10 or less price range. This would be just for fun, and be like a day trading type of thing. Anybody do/done this? How'd it work out? Will $500 make it worth my while or should I invest more?

I wouldn't recommend doing anything of the sort, unless you are planning on buying a controlling share and have knowledge and expertise in the industry. Don't think that's the case here, so don't.

You should really stick to stocks with a value of >$1.

You might get more excitement and return if you use it all on powerball tickets for Wednesday's drawing.

Yes. John Bell did.

Let me save you $500.

The reason some companies' stock is only worth pennies is they have diluted the shares by repeated secondary offerings in attempts to raise capital. In other words, they are desperate.

Don't waste your time or money.

You mail me $500 and I'll mail you back a blank piece of paper. It will be worth more in the end than your investment.

I have done this, first it costs more to trade pink sheets so you have to make more money to break even. I used 500 bucks and lost 200 I think, but I wasn't worried because I expected to lose it all.

Jeezus, I spend four days in Mexico, drinking tequila and looking at oily boobs, and I come back to this kind of question.

Here's my advice. Penny stocks are for suckers, do play with them. And drink tequila and look at oily boobs in Mexico

By boobs, I assume you mean balls?

You'd be assuming incorrectly. I enjoy the female figure my friend.

Although one night, at one of the resort's nightclubs, there was a wedding party, and there were some FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMING Toddys floating around and making a scene. One of them ended crying like a hysterical bitch when the bar was closing (maybe the gift shop was out of anal beads or something ), it was hilarious.
