You honestly think that album would fit the criteria for "must have"?

The entire premise of this thread is dumb. Different people have different tastes. I have very balanced taste, but own very few albums listed in this thread.

I'd say 2112 by Rush, Soup by Blind Melon, and You Are Free by Cat Power, but that's MY taste. To think that they are MUST HAVES for anyone, myself included, is incredibly laughable. There are copious amounts of very good, very diverse music available to listen to. Missing any one album is not going to damage the function of the world.

You misunderstood the point a tad bit. Of course everyone has different tastes. However, there are certain albums that are so damn good, they transcend if someone is a metal head, or a hip hop or a folk or classic rock person.

There are albums that are just well done to near perfection that if you like music, any kind of music, you're probably going to like those albums or appreciate the contributions that band made to our culture.

I've got a bunch of jazz albums and I really don't care for jazz that much, but when I'm in the right mood or just wanting to relax and chill out late at night those are good CD's to pop in or pull up in digital library.
