What position do you think Melvin Jones eventually plays?

I heard a lot about Beckwith being our next great MLB, but MLB is also suppose to be Jones' position as well. However, I believe Jones weighed in at about 275 lbs earlier this year. Do you think he will play DL? Even more interesting is if he could play FB. For a big boy, Jones could really move as the QB of the Chargin Indians.

Jones will be the MLB. He's down around 245 now I believe

I don't think Beckwith will be a MLB. He's bigger than your prototypical Chavis OLB but he's so athletic in open space. Maybe a Barrow type who starts outside and works his way inside in time.

I've been thinking that Beckwith would play DE all along. You have to wonder though, who will be switched from DE to DT. I keep hearing that Tashawn Bower or Frank Herron are candidates to make the switch. Lacouture signed as a DE and is playing DT, now.

I think the two players who have weight control issues(i.e. Frank Herron and Melvin Jones) are candidates to move to another position eventually.
Herron will probably move to DT and Jones to DE. IMHO

Well, considering his dad was a TB at A&M, and eventually McNeese, I would not be surprised to see him at FB, especially if he has trouble keeping his weight down.
He would fit the mold perfectly.

I just look at his frame and his measurables and see this as a no-brainer. And judging by NFL paychecks and LSU's track record, who wouldn't want that gig?

FB for Jones is interesting, could be a great fallback if he cant get on the field at MLB or DE
