I don't give a shite if you think I'm competent or not, I really don't. I am a New Orleans basketball fan who paid good money to watch a shite show last year. If everyone is healthy, and our pieces just aren't good enough to make the playoffs, changes need to be made.
If we wanted to wait years to see a playoff team, we should have just played the lottery and got the most for our money.
Each part added, seems good on paper. The sum of the parts dell has added, however, is questionable to me. If he doesn't have some grand scheme behind this

Fickle fans and their instant gratification... you seem like one of those, "I paid for my seats, I deserve an opinion about what's going on!"

So you'd be more happy if we had drafted a rookie who may not play this season and you ended up with another shite show? Trading for Jrue played a part in signing Tyreke. Without that trade you don't get either player.

Let's say this does happen, and the reason it happens is because Evans doesn't work out at SF. Should we act rashly and fire Dell and bring in a new GM who is likely to try and build from scratch, or should we let Dell trade one or more of our excess quasi all star caliber players for a SF? I think I see what crazy direction you would go, but I'd be more interested in something like Evans/Gordon for Batum. Dell didn't make the moves he made because he thought this was a finished product. He made the moves he made because he was in asset collection mode. If it works out, great, if it doesn't the Pelicans should have the best offer on the table for whoever the next James Harden is.

You're the only ticket holder for the team? I like New Orleans, I like basketball, I like the Pels, I like Monty and I like Dell. Oh, and by the way, I paid good money for the last few years and couldn't be more satisfied with the product. Even when they're bad, they always have a group of likeable guys you can pull for.
They lost a franchise player 2 years ago, along with an all star forward. You don't rebound over night from that.
Go cry somewhere else.

IMO, I doubt Dell thinks this roster is the finished product by a longshot. But it's a good start. We'll see how these guys play together for a season.

Though I think it's unlikely for Dell, and I think the OP is off his rocker at times, I don't think it's an unfair question.
Benson has made it clear that there will be no mora excuses. If this team stinks it up, and is in the bottom 1-3 of the WC, Benson could consider it.
I don't think firing the GM would be a wise move, but hey, you're hired to be fired.

If we're not winning and we're missing the playoffs, it's all about the same to me. Having top picks is a great way to collect assets when you're not in the playoffs.
Who is going to trade the next James Harden for evans who makes 11 million a year and isn't working out? At least if a draft pick isn't working out, he's not costing 11 million a year. I think dell thinks Evans is close to the next Harden. He took a huge chance on him.
With a blossoming Anthony Davis on a rookie contract, being one of the less than 10 teams to fail at an attempt to make the playoffs would be a disaster. We will be in "win now" mode and not winning. Rivers wants to be in the playoffs, AD wants to be in the playoffs.
With all that being said, I think we're going to make the playoffs and even if we do as an 8th seed, i'm happy. I think the front office's grand scheme might work, but if it doesn't....

The question "if it fails what do you do" is fair, but the conclusion that a house cleaning will somehow improve things is just nuts. I think we can all agree that if healthy, the likely fail points if this team falls short are SF and C. Fire the GM and by extension coach and bring in a new regime that will want to waste time and trade assets cleaning house and getting their own guys on the roster, or trade some package built around Evans/Gordon/Rivers for a SF/C? How would someone ever choose between the 2 as what the next logical step would be
Mr Blue's obviously upset about buying tickets last season which is understandable, but he seems ready for change for the sake of change, not because it's the best path to take.

I agree. But how bout just the head coach?
I kid cuz I care Monty.

I agree with it all. The only shortcomings are those two positions (and SF might actually be okay, jury's out on C), but I do believe playoffs could possibly be in our grasp. OP is just a guy who needs is thread creating rights provoked, along with the use of the angry emotions. Everything has been going pretty good so far and I think he just wanted to fine something to gripe about. We know if its another bottoming out season then something will change but if we're on the cusp, it might not, nay, will not be as bad. I just know I can't wait for October.

The original Harden was not traded for KMart alone, the next Harden will not be traded for Evans alone. I would imagine some combination of Evans/Gordon/Rivers/Anderson might be required. And it might not even be a direct trade. I wonder if the Spurs would be interested in doing some deal revolving around Aldridge and Leonard. We could end up with Leonard for the price of say Evans and Rivers. The Spurs get Rivers(assuming he keeps improving) and Aldridge, and Portland gets Evans or whatever Evans can be flipped for, and Spurs role players and picks.
And it doesn't have to be the next Harden. Again Portland is on shaky ground, if they move Aldridge surely Batum wouldn't be too far behind.

Shocking
Its the same 2 or 3 posters that come up another fire Monty/Dell angle every few days

I'd want a house cleaning because our front office will have frickED UP if we have a healthy roster and AD on a rookie contract and we're a lottery team without a lottery pick. Simple as that.
I'm not willing to watch a GM fail and try to recoup his losses. If we don't make the playoffs, we're not bound to be a top 10 team, which is what I think we all want. If things aren't working out, we need a change of direction. Maybe Dell could change the direction given the chance, but why keep the guy who tried and failed already?
This is all hypothetical. I think we'll make the playoffs, but MANY basketball writers aren't sure if we will. I do love the addition of Jrue and Tyreke, but you can only add so many guys. Almost every team wishes they could have Anthony Davis for 5 mill (What trade machine is showing, BTW it's working now).
We need to be 1st tier team bound. If Dell can't do it, I'm putting a moving van in front of his house. I think we all need to have high expectations, higher than a potential fringe playoff team.

Because a new GM will waste trade assets trying to change direction. How the team fails is important. Why change direction if all that is needed is to turn an extraneous player into the player you're missing?
Lets assume that Evans couldn't play much SF because Gordon was injured and that Batum is on the block. Trade Anderson for Batum and use the MLE to bring in a Chris Copeland type to replace most of Anderson's stretch 4 production off the bench.
What new GM is going to have a better plan than that? Cleaning house would lead to a loss of assets. Trading good players rarely leads to a win unless you are on the receiving end of a disgruntled star trade.

Its not failing you idiot. Its building. We have a young core. Okc failed to make the playoffs with Russell and KD, then made it to the first round, then the second, then conference finals, then finals. Its a process to become a contender. It wont even take us that long to be that good either. Yet somehow you think if we miss the playoffs, then firing everyone and blowing up the roster would be the best step to putting a good product on the floor?
