I'm less than 100 pages from finishing Dance with dragons. Anyone have a good fantasy series to pickup?

I saw the movie preview for Seventh Son and saw there are like 6 books in that series. Is it worth the read or does someone have something better?

Yes it is by Scott Card.

And thanks for the heads up. Nothing is worse then committing to a series and it not being good

The Elric Series. Epic. Awesome. Will take you years.

And it's dark and gritty as f*ck.

(ETA: Elric of Melnibone, by Michael Moorcock).

I've was trying to do the same thing until I realized I had a bunch of books that I haven't read yet.

That being said, Wheel of Time series is supposed to be top 5. Either way here's what I was looking at the other day when I finished ADwD.

NERDS!!!

Great porn name

My uncle reads a lot of Fantasy books and loves GOT. He also recommended Wheel of Time. He's worried that Martin is gonna die before he finishes like Wheel author did

The Wheel of Time has been a pretty good series. It's 14 books so you can have your hands full for a while.

I was in the same boat you are about a year ago. I finished GOT and wanted some more good fantasy to read. I tried Wheel of Time, didn't like it. I tried Black Company and I got bored with that too. Then I found Joe Abercrombie, and his first law trilogy. It was badass, and if you like GOT I think you would like Abercrombie's style. Look them up on Amazon.

I just started reading the Malazan book of the fallen series and Gardens of the Moon and its pretty good so far.

Friend recommended it to me for the wait after Dance and said the series is already completed so there won't be a wait.

The link that

gave on here has that series as #1 "Epic Fantasy" series. I was thinking about giving that a look.

I'm not too far in but it's pretty entertaining. Seems like it moves at a faster pace than GoT. Not a single description of any kind of food yet

More magic and nonhuman races if that tickles your fancy.

The KingKiller chronicles are really good and fox just picked up the rights to make it a tv show, kind of as their GoT

Now you know why the Fat Man approved/ok'ed the Official ASOIAF Cookbook that Barnes and Noble sells.
