Coach Cam is counting on Jeremy Hill to carry the rock, at least at some point.

When did he say that? Cus he didnt say anything about hill playing because that situation hasnt played out yet.

I think we finally got the right guy. He said Miles brought him in to call plays. But of course the head coach has a say. Especially on going for it on 4th down.

Cam getting rid of that dreaded horizontal passing will be a hit with me. And no I hope Miles doesn't have a say and just lets the man do his job.

It was there several times last year, Mett just needs to throw the ball two yards shorter each time.

I don't disagree. But I would enjoy taking more vertical shots but also hoping we connect too.

I personally enjoy an offense with a dominant run game that will throw 60 yard TD passes when the defense is trying to stop the run.

I think even the entire Rant could agree with that. Maybe.

Except this season there's a former NFL OC with 13+ years of proven top level experience manning the booth.

Cam almost sounds like Saban on the radio.

He also said this group of receivers are special. He heard and read all of the negative things being said about the receivers before getting down here, but when he came and saw how hard they work, he wondered where all the negativity came from.
Let's see how he feels if this special group of receivers continue with the drops in big games. Way too many catchable balls on the turf. Work ethic has nothing to do with hanging on to the ball.

Are you familiar with Jerry Rice? He said the exact opposite and practiced during the offseason catching footballs and bricks to improve his ability. I'll take his word for it.

Think positive people!

Don't see Les approving this at all.

We were a vertical passing team last year. Unfortunately none of those vertical passes were completed.

I am nothing but excited about this season! Looking forward to what the coaches will do with their new recruits, developed talent, and new opportunities.

I do think this interview reference is interesting: "Cameron said that he will call offensive plays from the booth during LSU games, and plans to seek LSU Head football Coach Les Miles' input on 4-down and two-minute situations on the offensive."

Of all things great about Coach Miles, his 4th down calls and two-minute drills are not his most "popular" skill sets. Love the calls or hate them, they get lots of attention. It is interesting that our new OC seems to be purposely pointing out Les will be involved in those situations.
