Saying goodbye to a good man and outdoorsman

My dad's best friend, the man that taught him to turkey hunt, has been taken off his medications today and is only being given morphine from here on out to make things as comfortable for him as possible. Unfortunately the world is losing a great man, a devoted pastor, an excellent turkey hunter, an always-willing fisherman, and about as damn fine of a story teller as you will find. Without him I would have missed out on many a fine morning chasing gobblers, some of the best biscuits you could ever imagine, and stories I'll know word for word for the rest of my life. Here's to hoping he'll find a place where the turkeys always gobble, the bream are never finicky, and Alabama wins every game, except for one, every season.

And seriously...the one here on Staring sucks. I talked up Johnny's to Mrs. House for 3 years living in Miami and we moved back and here it was.
I was apologizing to her after I picked up the first pizza.
I still order one every now and then with the hope that it will be the same...but no.

Trust me geauxt... I would not lie to you with a cold pork chop in one hand and typing with the other. It's different. I lived in God's country for 5 years and that aint it down here.
