I've held a good piece of what I bought last June...wish I'd held it all. Going to keep it for now.

I've been contemplating what to do myself with chk.. Got in around a year ago around 18 an then again 6 or so months ago.. Probably will hold out for the full year on the first block and sell..not sure what to do on the second.

Most investors are happy about Carl lowering the debt right? Is that reason enough to hold ?

im long because of bad decisions 5 years ago

with that in mind. would you just take a terrible loss, or wait it out.

in your case you might want to wait it out since they are sort of in a transitional period right now...might as well wait a couple of years and see what happens...

probably my plan. should have grabbed some at the low to make up the difference but didn't.

i've only ever made 3 terrible moves, CHK being one of them.
i was new to investing at the time though. learned my lesson.

If they get the debt under control they could really do well with their remaining plays.. They've been very efficient with drillin costs but simply over bought, accumulating an untenable long term debt situation. Icahn seems to have a solid plan in place but its still uncertain to me whether they break apart more or hold.

Got rid of mine around $21.50 a few months ago I believe. Still like them long. Was hoping for a pull back into the 17 range. Got down into the 18s and I should have bought back in.

I have some that are non-company granted that i bought in pretty low. We've sold off a lot of assets recently and plan to sell more to lower out debt and most of the focus now is on developing the assets that are worth it. There's been some policy changes and cleaning up done, and a lot more attention being paid to how we design our AFE's and allocate money for upcoming projects.

I think the new CEO is going to get us where Aubrey was trying to turn us towards before he left a lot faster.

They have some good assets left, but they are VPP'd out the arse....I have never liked CHK...I think most of the movement in their stock is emotional and not reality based.
