We all know some recruits do read this board, what are some positive reasons for staying here and playing for the home team?

I think it would be awesome to be on the field for the Tigers, knowing most of your buddies were right behind the end zone going nuts when you make a big play. It would not be nearly as frequent or likely if you leave the state.

What are some other advantages?

Best atmosphere till mid way through the 3rd quarter. Good job at a local car dealership or insurance company if football doesn't pan out.

1) Louisiana has a N.F.l. team. Coaches and Scouts stop by lsu every friday and saturday during football season when they play the saints.

2)L.S.U. has Five coaches who's coached in the n.f.l. Another has played in the n.f.l.

3)l.s.u. is tied for the most players in the n.f.l.

4)if you are from louisiana and don't make it to the n.f.l., playing for l.s.u. will help you get a job in louisiana outside your playing days.

5)exposure, l.s.u. is on t.v. as much or more than any other program.

6)you will play with and against the best talent in the country to prepare you for the n.f.l.

7) you have the ability to play for a n.c. and s.e.c. title. lsu has played for the n.c. every four years sinc 2003.

8)les miles. he is a quality coach who protects his players, creates a family enviroment, and allows you to have fun as a reward to all the hard work you put in.

9)if your a louisiana kid, you get to represent your state. rep the boot.

10)education, entertainment, climate, and women. lsu offers it all. you can get a college degree to help you outside of football, access to a one of kind culture that is built around festivals and fun, beautiful ladies to meet from southern to lsu, and a great climate to enjoy for most of the year. very mild winters.

1. One of the best coaching staffs in America:
Miles, Cameron, Chavis, Wilson, etc.
2. LSU has been, is, and probably will be in the near future the #1 or #2 school for producing NFL prospects in the NCAA.
3. The Cox Academic Center for Student Athletes is the premiere center of its kind in the country (featured in WSJ and NYT and lauded in academic circles.
4. LSU's Athletic Dept and Alumni Association support of student-athletes while in school and after graduation and business connections.
5. LSU's academic programs in: Veterinary Medicine, Landscape Architecture, Petroleum Engineering, Internal Auditing, Geophysics, Meteorology/Hurricane Engineering, Entrepreneurial Studies, etc are all top 5 nationally ranked programs.
6. LSU's Business School, All Engineering Schools, Marketing, Journalism & Communications, Music & Dramatic Arts, Computer Science, Pre-Law and Pre-Med programs are all well-respected.
7. The Golden Girls :)
8. The Gooooolden Band from Tigerland
9. Unprecedented fan and alumni support.

10. Maybe the biggest reason:

For starters, I would not use the "where dreams come to die" phrase as some offensive weapons may misinterpret it.

To really answer your question though, it all starts with HS coaches in my opinion. i know time allocation is tough, but you have to build on HS coaching relationships, even when you aren't targeting a prospect.

Seems like an easy sell. LSU has arguably been the #1 NFL pipeline school in college over the last ten plus years.

Come to LSU. Play early. Play in front of friends and family in the best stadium in the country. Get a degree and go to the NFL if you're good enough.

Yeah, but that goes for any recruit. I'm thinking of recruits from Louisiana. Why is it unique and what does LSU offer that no other school can?

Very simple. When our best in state players come to LSU we can compete for national honors. The obvious examples would be the years of Clayton, Spears, Whitworth, Hill, Williams, etc.
