Earning a fairly out of the blue offer as a DB with the talent coming in at DB AND WR goes to show what the staff thinks of him.
It also further shows how deep Louisiana truly is this year.

Any chance Santos is related to Santana?

Santos Ramirez 2014 S offered per JimmyI don't know whats so hard to understand? The kid EARNED his offer today in camp, in front of the LSU coaches, against some of the best WRs in the nation.
This is correct!!!

I do know that Morris Claiborne wasn't exactly a hot commodity and few offered him and he was rated poorly and he turned out pretty darn good.
the guy who ended up being the top Louisiana recruit on 247Sports, Tre'Davious White, started last year unranked, was rated the 180th player in the country in Feb of 2012 , rose to 140th in April, kept rising until he was The ninth best player in the country for the last 2013 rankings. I think LSU fans were more accepting of White because he was Claiborne's cousin. Rashard Robinson was also literally "off the charts" with no other big time offers and ended up being the 118th best player & 10 best corner in the country there too.

I don't there's any doubt that they expect some secondary recruits to grow into LBs.

Heck, in the Chief's system, they really don't have to grow much.

I'm doing it now...so far, Rivals and 24/7 do NOT have him with an LSU offer.

Yeah, when I looked them up, as I said, Rivals didn't have him with an LSU at that time, neither did ESPN, and 24/7 didn't have a profile on him. Obviously that has changed with the new updates to the Rival site.
BTW, it is always interesting to see an Air Force offer for someone. They can compete against any school in the country for recruits, NOT because of their football team obviously but the fact that a signee will end up as an officer out of the academy there. Sort of like Vandy or Stanford in academic credentials except of course it is related to the military. I'm pretty sure that LSU would be "Miles" {sorry, couldn't resist} ahead of Memphis and S Miss but the Air Force Academy might actually have a shot.

I see the Air Force offer as a positive reflection of the kid's character/academics. No way he turns down LSU for Air Force.

That COULD be why he didn't immediately accept. IMO, the Air Force Academy is a wild card in recruiting, NOT because of their football team but because of the military officer training. He hasn't attended camps, etc, so for whatever reason until this weekend, he wasn't exactly putting himself out there.

Right but that is my point. He may want to be an officer in the Air Force. That is certainly something that LSU can't offer. BTW, there was that one DL I think that played eventually in the NFL...I believe the Dallas Cowboys had him on their roster for a couple of years and he started I think. His name escapes me.

“I attended the Houston camp, and the Junior Day. It was very exciting, a great atmosphere and it was a pretty exciting time.”
"I’m going to the Alabama camp this month.”
Looks like he was trying to get his name out there. These are old quotes but I will try and verify tomorrow if he went to Bama's camp.
