You have 1,000 SF. If you pay someone else to do most of the work, it will cost a nice piece of money.

I'd figure at least $1/ SF to demo and haul-off old concrete. $1,000 there.

Next, you will need fill material for a good base. Figure $500 material here.

To form, place, and finish the new driveway, $1.50/ SF is probably a good price. $1,500 for this line item.

What thickness concrete do you want? 4" or 6"? Either way, you are looking at anywhere from 15 to 20 CY of concrete. After sales tax, you will be covered figuring $2,000 here.

You will also need either rebar or mesh. $500 for material is a good estimate. The concrete contractor will place it for you and this is covered in his $1.50/ SF price above.

Form material including expansion joints will be another .75/ SF. $750 here.

Do you have access to tail gate the placement of the concrete, or will you need a pump truck?

Recap:
Demo: $1,000
Fill: $500
Labor: $1,500
Concrete: $2,000
Form material: $750
Pump is X factor.

6 to 8k is your budget based on 1,000 SF and not knowing any other variables.

Yeah I think 4 inch should be thick enough. They can back up to the part that needs to be replaced. It's quite a bit of concrete to be hauled. I figured about 16 yards. 25 X 40 is an estimate since it is an odd shape.

I've got a concrete crew that works for us that does the same work on the side. I see you're in Ponchatoula. I would be glad to hook you up with them when you're ready. Feel free to email me in the future if you need their contact info.

Also, don't know why but original driveway didn't have any mesh. Cheap bastards.

I feel your pain. Mine doesn't either and its cracking like a son of a bitch.

I don't think it was backfilled correctly either.

They most likely put fiber mesh in the concrete. It's. common practice, but not as durable.

I'm actually in the same boat. My house is 3 years old and driveway has to be replaced. The builder has replaced numerous ones on my street but they've been avoiding my calls a few times. I can do it myself much cheaper, but would much rather them do it. My warranty expired two years ago, but I'm going to keep hounding them until they replace it before I sell.

This house was built in 1989.I thought they built better then. Plus I have a million trees.

Yeah mine has to be fiber mesh too.

Even worse than all of this, the driveway is slightly sloped into my garage which just makes the whole situation a PITA.

You have to be a complete idiot to go into the construction industry these days. I'm sure I can help you out some when you get ready, as long as you're not friends with Tiger Ham (which also clarifies the idiot part) .
