Any suggestions ? Would be cool if I could see how far I paddled and mark where I caught fish.

Couldnt you just use a GPS or your phone with google maps?
As far as an app, try Overland.

I just use google earth and draw lines to get distance
I drop pins where I caught. Color code by species and with a description

That's what I do. It gives you a good estimate of how far you have paddled, and also gives you an answer to the question you were asking yourself while you were on the water. . . "I wonder what's just around that corner"

Motion X GPS app. Only thing I use when I'm in my Kayak. Add waypoints, tracks and imports to Google earth. Thank me later.

Trimble Navigator will record your tracks and add waypoints. Its designed for topo maps though so not sure how the maps are over water but im pretty sure you can import to google as well.

Try an app called Map My Ride. For a while I used it for bike training, but it should work for yakin too.
