I have a M&P Shield with a mitch rosen leather OWB holster that is awesome. However, I am looking for something that i can use IWB, ideally with athletic shorts (something without a belt). Any suggestions on what brands/styles to start looking at?

EDIT: I found a local dealer who sold Sticky holsters so I picked up a MD2 just to check it out. and so far it's perfect. doesn't move/slip when doing simple things around the house/yard. gun pulls out when drawn and holster doesn't move. About to head to town and see how it works

My buddies both carry theirs in Blackhawk IWB suede holsters designed for the Glock 26. The Shield fits like a glove.

Consider belly band style as well.

I heard/read great things about the Remora holsters. I bought one but haven't used it yet.

Remora holsters

I have one. It takes some getting use to. It works fine...mentally I keep thinking about it because it doesn't have a reatining clip...I want to keep making sure it is in place. It does stay in place as advertised.

I ordered a few remora holster for several guns -- sent every one of them back. They may be OK for occasional use, but were not at all suitable, for me, for "all day, every day" use.

I use a Comp-Tac paddle holster 365 days/year with a G19.

Galco also apparently ripped off crossbreed and has a holster they call the king tuk that looks interesting.

That being said for athletic wear (shorts without a belt) and running, you may want to consider the dreaded fanny pack. Several are built for concealment.

i will not be running or exercising with the gun. When not in jeans i am mostly wearing athletic shorts so i just wanted something small, light and quick to wear with the shorts. Example: If i leave the gym and do things around town i want to be able to carry without having to change clothes. Walking the dog is the most "exercise" i would be doing with the gun.

when i get some time i will look at all of the suggestions.

When I cc wearing athletic shorts, I use a Remora holster. Admittedly, I'm only wearing the combination a few hours, not a long time. I've been satisfied w/ the Remora holster for this use. Mine is the regular, non-IWB, Remora. I doubt the usual clip holsters would work well w/ non-belted athletic shorts, but maybe not. Those that recommended a clip holster, does it work well w/ non-belted athletic shorts?
