Guy told me when he worked at KFC in HS they used to "bleach" the green off the chicken.

Even high end restaurants do things to food you wouldn't do at home and still eat.

That's a common practice in butcher departments at stores. A piece of meat falls on the ground they wipe it down with bleach. Be thankful for the places that give two shits about how they handle your food. They aren't perfect but that kind of care goes a long way.

This is as false as false can get. I was in the industry for years, and I can tell you this would never happen...esp in GC. GC has some of the toughest standards I've ever seen. Anyone that knows anything knows the dumpster area is actually part of an inspection; so this could not happen. This punk kid hates his manager most likely because he was held accountable for his performance; so he decided to make this video.

You are 100% correct. Most food industry business are only inspected one every year or two and they are usually nor random or aggressive. (There are exceptions and barney fifes everywhere, but they are rare and usually don't last long.

will say though, some of these people claiming they know how inspections work are full of shite.

1. Inspections are rarely random.

2. Inspectors can be easily persuaded to look the other way. Most are waiting for you to give them free shite.

3. Always had free roam when they showed up. A good gm can keep them occupied while the kitchen makes sure everything is in order.

4. Inspections usually happen every two years or so unless you have some first rate violations.

This is why I frequent the higher end steak houses such as Ryans.
