First time home buyer

Are there any major incentives out there anymore? I know a couple years ago there were doing $10k or $8k from the taxpayers towards your down payment...anything now a days I need to know about or look into? I'm in Nashville if that helps anything.. TIA

Even though rates are creeping up, a low rate is always a good incentive.

I am interested in this as well. ..I had a agent tell me there aren't really any programs out there for first time buyers but I figured there would be some type of tax break

No. The old credit was horrible for the market too.

Explain how this was horrible for the market vs the sub-prime lending?

Because it sucked 3-4 years of buyers that would slowly decide buying was right and they all bought in that period. It drove interest rates to rock bottom 3.25 range. We are finally recovering.
