You know, I have to wonder if that Office episode "Saul" was in had anything to do with testing for this new show. Bc in the Office, he just seemed like a very tame version of the same Saul from BB.
I think this he could turn out well if they do it right. Bc something like that could go stale very quickly if not.

I think a "rise of Gustavo" prequel would be a good series. \

Saul's a good character in his current capacity. Doesn't have enough depth or breadth to carry his own show.

In hindsight, they should have ended it after the first season. Of course, at the time, everyone wanted more (and rightfully so - Season 1 was solid gold).

Season 2 was just terrible. Season 3 was all right, but they had done so much damage to Stevie Janowski's character, that it was just excruciating to watch at times; not to mention, they went way too over the top with Ashley Schaeffer as well.

Yeah I think a spin off with Gus would be pretty cool.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

That scene where he poisons everyone at the pool was a top 3 scene in the show's entirety.

Depends on how they write it. I can easily see Saul managing finances, etc. for several underworld figures at a time similar to his role in breaking bad. The writers could do some depth on each one not unlike the main nemesis that Dexter faces each season. Saul cycles through them as they kill each other off, go to jail, leave the country, whatever.

2 days late but I just saw this. What you said is true but that's because we only saw what was necessary for us to see. I think a show about Saul could go in several different directions. I always thought a show about Mike working for Saul would be awesome. It doesn't matter that Mike is dead because I always envisioned the show's events would have to precede BB for it to make sense anyway.
