Remove the back membrane if you want. I don't, but most people do. Put a dry rub on them. Put them on the side without heat or very low heat. Get one of those smoke boxes that are around for gas grills so you can get some smoke on them while they're cooking. Cook low and slow and not until they're falling off the bone. I don't know how long it will take on the gas grill, but that's how I would do them. Someone else will come along with more details, I'm sure.

Oh, if you want sauce, put that on just before you take them off so it will cook on them, but not burn to a crisp.

How do you want them? Wet or dry, falling apart or some chew?

The biggest problem with a gas grill is getting the temp low enough - I can't get mine to hang out under 300 or so for long. Ideally, you'd like to be around 250 for 3-4 hours until the meat has shrunk back from the bones a bit.

I do a dry rub of chili powder, paprika, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and cayenne. Rub on liberally before hand (you can rub some yellow mustard on first to help it stick - you won't taste the mustard), and then there's nothing else to do until it's done. You could always mop it with some sauce, but I'm married to a Memphis girl who would never forgive me if I served wet ribs.

Pour charcoal in a chimney starter , light it, pour the lit charcoal into the container(yourvGas grill) and cook the ribs over a fire the way God intended.
