Don't have all the details yet, will when they post them, but LSU 3 won the national championship in Biloxi! Caught about 92" I believe.

Thanks everyone for the support!

From one of our team members on bckfc.org

quote:

After across the board bad prefishing on Thursday and Friday it looked like the champion could be crowned with only ~50" but a better yet still very slow bite today allowed for a very competitive championship.

The official results haven't been released but below are pretty close:
1st - LSU 3 (95") 2nd - Lamar 1 (85") 3rd - Lamar 2 (79") 4th - UWF (75") 5th - LSU 1 (72") 6th - LSU 2 (64") 7th/8th Stephen F Austin / Texas A&M Galvestion (?")

3 man teams
catch,photo,release
5 fish per team, any fish(reds, specks, flounder, black drum, snook)
cap at 150" plus a slam bonus if that is applicable

I ask this question with the utmost respect....I love LSU and love fishing but is this a real NCAA acknowledged sport or just some type of side gig like the LSU quidditch BS that I see from time to time?

Horrible comparison between fishing and quidditch, I know but I was just wondering where this stood.

that's what it is for now. We are an official club and what not but not ncaa official. I could see it there in time however

Sweet! I could get into following that if they would ever start tracking it some. Would be sweet to see the championships on ESPNU or something too. That would be 10xs better than some of the shite they air after baseball season and before football starts.

Could turn into a good "gap" sport to follow.

NCAA, last yahoos you want involved unless they allowed scholarships and you got recruited and coach provided chicks in bikinis to fish with you on visits.

yea. 5 bull reds, a flounder, speck, and black drum would be 100% best case scenario.

we have caught up to 120" I believe this season (it was in Louisiana, wadda ya know )

This is only the first year. We had 15ish teams in the league. Watch for it to explode next year
