Any one with any reports on Big Lake?

Dad and I gonna try it this weekend. Anyone know any scoop?

I went Sunday afternoon. The wind blew like hell.
We caught a few rat reds and 4 trout. Nothing to write home about.
The water quality was strange on the north part of the lake, like a light greenish color. Once we moved to the south end, water quality got better and we caught a few fish.
We fished the washout, the St. John's bay, then the old Jetties. We finished up in West Cove to get out of the wind. We found one group of birds working and that's when we caught the trout.
Oh and I caught a two foot shark.
Caught the reds on live shad. Trout on plastics. I think live shrimp or big shad would be the ticket right now.

Man we've been catching fish all over the lake. The past week or so, trout have been in a transition period. You can still find a few groups of birds working, but its starting to die down. Trout are holding over reefs and around the channel. I fished this past Wednesday through Saturday, and we never had a bad day. I caught more on Vudu shrimp, matrix shad, and gulp swimming mullet than I did on live shrimp. I'll be on the lake Thursday and Friday, possibly Saturday.

Cajun Phil had a post yesterday about a guy fishing with Kevin a few weeks back caught a 9.1 but wasn't in STAR. SOB comes back the other day registered and catches an 8.3.

Saw a show withKevin and they caught several around six maybe even seven pounds. They were fishing behind a weir dam? Live piggy perch they said but looked like a pogy tome. Free line except a split shot and. 5/0 kayle hook. It was on Sunday so pretty recent.
