Good article about how Lebron was the only constant for the Heat this postseason.

SIAP but it's a pretty good read.

Go ahead. Compare the Miami roster with that of the ’86 Celtics, ’87 Lakers, or ’89 and ’90 Pistons or some of Michael’s Chicago teams, and it’s not even close. K.C. Jones, Pat Riley, Chuck Daly, and Phil Jackson combined never had to do half the mixing and matching and wishing and hoping Spoelstra had to do in order to get this team home.

He has learned to take over when it is necessary, but it does not come naturally to him.

Anyway, please, let him play it out. Then we can place him in the proper historical context.

He’s right here, right now. He is the consummate basketball artiste. We are truly blessed to have him.

For starters, the Bulls were on national TC for all of their games due to WGN (being over 25,you should remember this).

Secondly, the Chicago Bulls became the third power franchise in the NBA behind Jordan. Cheering for the Bulls was going against the grain of the national Celtics-Lakers fanbase.

Third, marketing blitz/huge market made Jordan synonymous with the city of Chicago.

Fourth, when he was only a player-his entire career/legacy was there.

Fifth, The Heat had already won and the "franchise" defining player (at least at first) was still on the team. So LeBron fans didn't want be confused as Wade fans too, since he was once a main rival.

Finally, this happens all the time in sports, I don't see how you say it's retarded. the national fanbase for most teams are built around. Bird and the Celtics, Farve and the Packers, Vick and Falcons, Gretzky and the Kings, etc. The same reason people were all aboard the Cavs train.Typically a star player stays on and a fan stays with that team as younger guys come through you start to pull for them too.

If you want to only classify yourself as a 'Bron fan. that's fine. I consider myself a fan of the game and I appreciate all great players. That's why you like him and it's while you like the next great one. I do have one question- if you have no team allegiance to the Heat, when you go watch an NBA game live at your local NBA arena(or closest)-are you cheering for the home team to win the game? If not,you should be.

So LeBron needs to win more rings to get close to Jordan?

I guess he needs to...
