No LSU fans in their right minds are arguing to bring gorillaball back. If you watched the CWS, you'd see that legitimate power hitters are crushing baseballs and they're not reaching the warning tracks. They've gone from making it harder to being freaking unfair. It's hard to enjoy the event when one of the two finalists knows they should have legitimately lost both of their first two games in the 9th or gone to extra innings on home runs.

Title IX ruined college baseball for me. It's been on a steady decline since then, IMHO. I still watch it, don't get me wrong. I'd just enjoy it more if we could watch the kind of teams we'd have if teams awarded full rides to all worthy players.

Why don't they make college basketball teams play with deflated basketballs?

It would cut down on selfishness, one on one hotdogging, and allow the "fundamentally sound" white teams that like to pass the ball to reach the Final Four!

Because player safety isn't a concern with inflated basketballs

So, this is what's it's really all about. Bunch of damn yankees jealous of southern superiority again.

Just change the balls and be done with it. Those balls they are using seriously look like some shite you buy off the shelf at wal-mart

NCAA is getting what it wants...a more even playing field for northern teams IMO.

No. It's about ESPN being pissed off that they have a product that only caters to one top-twenty television market (Los Angeles). ESPN doesn't care if they get big numbers in Baton Rouge and Jackson Mississippi.

If one percent of the NYC TV market watches Stony Brook, it matches their entire Baton Rouge audience.

If this stops people from bitching I say go for it......nobody on this damn board complained about the balls until they heard Peterson say something about it at the SEC tourney. Hell even the complaining about the bats was down.

If changing the balls stop people from complaining again I say go for it. However, when people start seeing strikeouts go up because the minor league ball moves more than the current ball I expect to see the same type of bitching again.

No it doesn't. That's the whole reason it goes farther. The seams are .5mm lower which means less drag which means 20 feet more distance and 20% less movement on breaking balls.

Sometimes the majority is wrong and 99.6 percent of America doesn't give a frick about this anyway. The people are for this aren't talking about injuries. They're saying "IT'S NOT FAAAAAIIIIIIIRRRRRRR.! WE'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!"

Well since they were changed, i'd say yes the majority of people who matter wanted to change them.

I'll take the word of dudes that have actually thrown both balls in games at a high level over someone on this board.....no offense.

Did they ask coaches around the nation or was it something the NCAA decided.

I'm sure some damn smart people came up with those numbers....and I'm sure there is some physics to back that up....but it doesn't make good common sense.

Like I said I'll take the word of guys that have thrown both balls in games.
