Bale can definitely play on the right, but I think you take a lot of Lennon's effectiveness away if you play him on the left.
Not a Spurs fan, but if you go with a 4-3-3 with Bale on the right then I'd go with Dempsey/Sigurdsson on the left.

It's funny because when the U.S. was playing Belgium, I hated pulling against Jan and Dembele, but when they subbed Benteke in for Dembele, it became easier. Now he could be play for Spurs!
Also, it's crazy that Sandro might not start. He's a stud, but coming off a knee injury, it's probably best that he comes off the bench for a while.

Sounds like Spurs want Benteke, Levy can frick off. I'd actually say he's pretty good value at £25mm, but I think we can probably get £30 for him and I would much prefer we sell to arsenal or city.

BAE is and always has been a douche. He has improved his play over the years, but not his attitude.
One rumor has Spurs sending Defoe plus cash to Villa for Benteke.. but that Villa prefer straight cash.

BAE has admitted to his mercenary ways. He plays football as a means to an end, not because he loves it. He provides for his family and has stated in the past that he is looking forward to life after football.

As a Spurs fan is there something I'm missing about BAE? I can't get mad at the guy because he looks at his career from a professional viewpoint and thinks of it just as a job. Can't fault him for not being a huge fan of the game. Are there some other reasons why people don't like him?
And I wouldn't mind paying over 20m for Benteke, unless Levy has some other striker targets in his mind.

Villa already have an aging England international striker on huge wages in the squad, no way we would take Defoe when we already have Bent, Weimann, and Gabby. If we sign another striker it will be somebody young and unproven like Benteke, no way Lambert would consider Defoe.
IMO, the bidding starts at £25m, and if others are interested, I'd be very surprised to see spurs end up with him. Fwiw, I think he would be an incredible signing for y'all at the position you need the most help at.

I think plenty of professionals view soccer as a job, most just aren't outspoken about it.

Villa have said they want 25m for him. But they aren't getting that. I say he goes for 18-20 to Spurs, or 22m to somewhere else.
