i don't think he is either, but there's a real question apparently. a bunch of people have given different answers and apparently the UEFA website has him on our roster.

you would think AW would have mentioned it when talking about the squad (he said everyone from Saturday was available), but if he's not on it, it's because AW picked Ryo and Zelalem over Serge, something he might not want to own up to.

their owner was bragging about how quickly they were able to sign him. well no shite, dumb asses, you were the only ones who wanted to pay that exorbitant fee.

i'm glad we didn't get him. i'm partial to Giroud, but also, if we're going to spend that kind of money, it needs to be for a more complete player.

there's a kind of homegrown rule for the B team, but Serge doesn't fit those requirements from my understanding of the rule. we haven't had him for long enough. if he wasn't put on the A team, i don't think he's in the squad.

i really am not sure though. the rule makes no sense. i tried to look back on Arsenal dot com to see their article, because i think they posted one naming the team, but i could not find it.

we'll know soon enough.

i really don't mean to be a dick on either of these points, but it's Gnabry and i feel like we've well covered the contradicting evidence of whether he's in our CL squad or not. UEFA has him listed as List A, List B, and not in the squad at all on different pages. When the list was released, he wasn't on there. a lot of people wrote about how odd it was. i really hope he's on there. but we won't know until ~12:45.

List B regulation from UEFA handbook - A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1992
and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted
period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with
UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been
registered with the participating club for the previous two years without
interruption.

seems like he should be eligible under that.

i feel like a dick for that last post. sorry.

not a huge fan of this lineup though. pushes Rambo or Özil out wide. very conservative for a home match. shouldn't be surprised though, I guess.

we were close to signing him. that news had been out for awhile. didn't know we were *that* close. ManU beat us out at the last minute because Queiroz joined ManU.
