I go with the Costa 580 glass because I am around a lot of dust and the glass does not scratch like the plastic. I have a pair that are over 10 years old and the lens still looks perfect.

I had a pair of Oakley and still have them somewhere. They were mirrored lenses for about two years and all the mirroring rubbed off somehow.

As one who studies lens quality for a living, Costa's 580 lens is hands down better than Oakley. From what I have found Costa's 400 entry level lens is more similar to Oakley.
For lens quality I like:
1. Maui Jim
2. Costa 580
3. Wiley X
4. Kaenon
Keep in mind this has NOTHING to do with frame style only with lenses. I get all the manufacturers latest and greatest and some of their reps to my camp in Venice once a year to test them against each other. The above are my results.

I am shopping for new prescription sunglasses for fishing right now. Got a quote for Mauis for $669.00. At this point I'm thinking Sam's Club.
