When did EPL become BPL?

It hasn't really "changed" per se, we're the only country that uses the acronym thing anyway. People will usually say EPL in conversation. Media with a contract are instructed to use BPL.

once asked a brit if he watched the EPL and he in turn asked what the EPL is. I tell him and he laughs and says, we just call it the premier league here. I felt like a retard.

It has never been the "EPL." It is the BPL, PL or Prem.

Why would you bring up a war that, at best, would be considered a stalemate from an American perspective?
