Lets walk through your typical bass outing

90% of the time this is my morning.
Daylight: Alternating between a White Lunker Lure and a black/silver popper until I find which one they are hitting then I fish that at a rapid pace until the action slows usually ~30 minutes after daybreak.
Early morning: Either a white spinner bait or a white/chartreuse spinner bait with gold spinners against the bank and under trees and either a Tennessee Shad or Louisiana Shad 300 series Bandit crank bait alongside piers. Baby perch is never far away if I find the need to tie it on.
9am till quitting time: Texas Rig worm. Namely a Finesse Zoom or baby brush hog. Watermelon seed, Junebug, pumpkin seed, Red Shad and Tequila Sunrise depending on where I'm fishing. I find deep structure and cover it from all angles. I'm still throwing deep diving crank baits (12'+) on the deeper pier fronts.
From 11am-4pm I'm rarely fishing. Too damned hot.
Afternoons I reverse the order and fish the worm until I'm having no luck then I fish the hell out of a crank bait. Only top water I usually go to is a white Spook along side grass right at dark.
My trips are ritualistic but I find that the most basic colors and techniques work. But let's hear what the rest of the board uses.

Lunker lure at first light
Spinnerbait if that isn't working
If Spinnerbait bite doesn't turn on ill toss a crank bait usually
Then soft plastics (trick worm, speed craw, brush hog)
Spinnerbait is never far away though. I make sure to toss it a few times an hour unles the worm bite is on fire.

Sounds like mine, but from May through September, I skip the spinner bait part.

Do you fish this in weeds only or in open water? I've never fished a frog but know its money if used properly.

I fish the frog in both weeds and open water. Most "open water" that I fish is submerged moss beds, with the top of the beds about 2 feet below the water line, and a total depth of about 6 feet. No vegetation on top. Anytime lily pads are around it is no contest though.
I have thrown the frog first thing, every trip for the last 2 months, and caught at least 1 fish every time.

Watched a show today on frog fishing. Dude said middle of the day could be even better than early. Fish seeking cover and all.

Actually a few weeks ago, I went fishing with TheLastCoco, and we couldn't find the fish to save our asses up until about 10:30. Found a nice sized pad flat in the back, hot as shite, threw the frog and they were wearing it out. Couldn't believe they were on it that late. Definitely my favorite bait with senko running close 2nd.

Yella magic first
T rig
Yella magic or frog if I see some top water action
Maybe spinnerbait
More t rig
It that all fails throw the rest of the box to no avail, drink all the beer, go home.

Depends where I'm at. My regular spots all call for different tactics
One place it's spinner baits till the sun gets up good then it's pitching creature baits at heavy cover
Another place it's Bandit 200 series chartreuse and white crank bait instead of spinner bait.
Haven't thrown a top water bait in probably 3 years

Show up
Throw buzz bait. Get hung up and loose it.
Tie on red eyed shad. Throw it for about 10 minutes. Get tired of reeling in grass.
Tie on red shad worm. Flip into willow tree full of wasps.
Say frick it, open a beer, and jump in.

this is 90% of my fishing trips
5:00 am - load up kayak
5:15 am - stop at gas station for honey bun and Dr. Pepper
5:45 am - launch kayak in water
5:50 am - go back to the bank to pee
5:55 am - re-launch kayak in water
6:07 am - hook other rod in back of kayak while casting
6:34 am - cut all the line and re-tie everything
7:17 am - somehow catch a 13" bass, which gives me enough confidence to keep using the shitty bait that I'm using for the next 3 hours
10:17 am - time for a new bait
11:15 am - "frick it, I'm going home"

This has been my worst enemy since I have started kayak fishing. Smacked a tree branch last weekend, took my thumb off of the spool at just the wrong time, fail ensued....After sitting in the heat trying to pick it out for 20 minutes, I just said frick it, cut it all and completely re-spooled.

Son won the McDonalds tournament a couple years ago with a Spro frog at 12:30. Fish was under a big arse lilly pad.

Now that we have hit the hot part of summer, mine changed a bit.
Wake in camper. Make coffee and listen to the Bridge.
Head to a pad field for some topwater. No bites.
Sun comes up. Drift through the schooling areas dragging a c-rig. Schoolies never come up. Head back to camper. Thaw burgers.
