I think the errors from Ross and Bregman were huge, but I think Javi lost the game for us last night. We couldn't hit sh!t. Fire Javi.

1. Ross.
2. Bregman.
3. Paul Mainieri.

Either one of those make a routine baseball play, we are at worst tied after the 9th.

out played and out coached, LSU lost that game as a team. You hit the ball, you win. You bunt, you win.

Having no strategy for dealing with their small ball tactics and high strikes pitching attack.

It looked like UCLA scouted us, knew the ballpark's limitations and planned for both. It looked like we rolled out of bed and tried to rely on a combination of kale juice, canned corn and swagger.

Bregman was the worst, only because of WHEN it happened, but he should not get blamed more....it was a cumulative effort....
not to mentions the advantage now going to "small ball" teams in the new stadium.
"Boring baseball" now alive and well in the CWS.

NCAA.

Baseball has fences for a reason. If pitchers make mistakes they should be penalized. The new bats have basically hurt power hitting teams and rewarded the bad hitting teams. How is that fair?

To answer all the people who will say that is the game now I will go with Bregman and Rhymes....along with coaching.

How many more ignorant threads are going to get today. This has to be one of the worst ones. The fricking team lost the game. Putting this loss on a player or players is so childish. Tigers didnt execute and hit with runners on base. It happens, their pitcher was just as tough as Nola. Team has to get over it and move on.

Swinging for the fences gave LSU 1 run, which would have been enough if not for the fielding errors.

Coaching. We're in an era of small ball that is magnified in a park like TD Ameritrade. Walks are as good as hits with those dead bats (when I played with wooden bats the coaches drilled that into us). Work the count. Lay off high fast balls because even if you make contact it will be a lazy fly ball out. Bunt runners over in tight games.

Basically, put pressure on the other team. Force the pitcher to throw strikes. Wait for a pitch you can drive and work the count. Get on base any way you can. Forget about the big swing because almost every park is a pitcher's park with dead bats and raised seams on the balls.

UCLA won the game. Skip was right. America's favorite pastime is the blame game.

@masonkatz58 6h This game was no single persons fault. If you are blaming anyone individually then stop. Bottom line it's a team game win or lose #neverover
