Mine is him taking our family to grand isle for a week every summer. All the ladies would go crabbing on the beach in the morning and the guys would fish.

Crappie fishing in Lake Vernon when it was raining so hard my dad spent more time bailing the boat out than he did getting my line out of trees.

Killing my first deer ranks pretty high up there. Spending a week in Montana trout fishing is a good one as well. We did that 2 summers in a row.

I still vividly remember all the times spent in the outdoors with dad while growing up. They are probably the clearest of all my childhood memories.

Skinny Dipping with 2 random girls in an apartment complex.

Then we paired off and had some fun.

Have a bunch, we fished every Thursday until Andrew hit. But my favorite was a few years ago when I called in 4 gobblers about ten yards from us. He and I side by side, he whispers I'm so nervous I might miss, hurry up and shoot. Boss is in full strut, one of the others see or hear us and all heads go up. Now! Boom, Boom! 3 long beards flopping. We were high fiving and hugging like we just beat Bama.

I pissed in my pants once when I was younger and we were squirrel hunting. Couldn't get the buttons undone on my camo pants in time. Dad gave me a piggy back later after I tired of walking and as the now cold piss soaked through his shirt he asked " did you piss yourself or is tht just the cold". Deep down I think he already knew the answer but he didnt mind carrying my pissy arse through those woods.

Eta: him being with me killing my first deer and our ongoing fishing trips. I guide him in fresh water and he guides me in saltwater

Crabbing old school with string and dip net on the Norco Spillway! We also used the reg crab nets on later trips. Fun times!

When I was a really little guy, my dad had an old mobile home parked in some woods between a man-made lake and a creek. We'd go out there every month or so and spend a couple nights...fish for little bream all day.

Running trot lines for wood ducks using 10# mono with bream hooks baited using green giant nibblet corn.

If I have a son I will not teach him all of the outdoor tricks I was taught.

A few years ago at the ranch my dad woke me up one morning to go out and hunt with him on our low fence property. My brother and I had stayed up late spotlighting hogs and what not and was next level hungover. He wouldn't take no for an answer so I went all pissed with the intention of just sleeping in the stand. He wakes me up in the stand to shoot this 15 pt. one of the cooler deer I have shot.

Two questions

1) Is it legal?

2) Do you catch a lot?

Not legal but I figured it was ok to mention since the would be defendant is deceased.

Answer #2: it's illegal for a reason

What kind if illegal north Louisiana redneck shite is that?? I want to try it.

Mine would be one of the many hunting trips with him. There's been a bunch and will be many more. '

Another thing that gets me is how his onery man of steel hardheaded arse melts like butter with my son.

Don't really have one in particular. We hunt together all the time though.

We farm and had a pretty good moment yesterday. We're in the middle of wheat harvest here, and he's cut a lot of wheat over the years around here and out in OK, KS, CO, WY, SD, and MT. I was on the combine yesterday and we moved to a new field. I called him and said, "Where are you, and what's the best wheat you've ever cut?" He said he was at the shop and cut some that made 95 bushles/acre a long time ago in Kansas. I told him, "Well, you need to come ride for a few minutes." When he got there I just moved over and let him run the combine for a little while, and I rode with him. He never runs the combine anymore. That's my job now... Anyway, It was making about 100. At the end of it he just said, "This is unbelievable."

I get mad at him sometimes, we don't always see eye to eye (new school/old school), and I've been in a pretty sorry mood lately that has nothing to do with work, but I really enjoyed just getting to ride with the man that taught me most of what I know about farming for a little while and let him enjoy do something that he doesn't do much anymore.

I don't even know if that counts as an outdoor memory, but whatever.
