I'm starting to get on the Len bandwagon. If he pans out, he's a very nice compliment to Davis. Having a great frontcourt is a gamechanger.

That's why I still see Shabazz as a strong possibility. He's had his fair share of question marks but at least we know he can put points on the board. Plus he's now most likely the 2nd highest rated sf on our board after Porter. If Monty and Dell really feel they need to address this position in this draft then he will be the pick.

Another possibility is that Saric and Porter were the only two sfs they were looking to draft and if they couldn't get one of those two, they'd just bring in a veteran on a favorable contract.

you'd have to think porter and shabazz are on the top of the list

I didn't include Porter because I don't think its likely he'll be there. You never know, I just think the chances are very remote.

Shabazz fills the need because he's a SF. But I'll bet there are teams that have him completely off their board.

F shabazz. John wall has been outspoken in his desire for bennett. There's a bigger chance porter drops thsn you realize

Yeah I know. I was just speaking in the unlikely event that he dropped.

Shabazz might impress Monty in individual workouts

Have we discussed the fact that, last year, the team was completely unwilling to do individual workouts, but this year they are doing one with Burke?

Seems like an odd shift in philosophy.

I think it was more of everyone knew who we were going to take at 1 and they'd been around Rivers long enough to take him, so a personal workout wasn't needed.

But they flat refused certain players because they would only do individual workouts. They were quite adamant about it.

McLemore and Porter are not options for purposes of this thread as I don't think they are likely to be there. Thank you for your response though, duly noted.

I just listed my top 6, figuring at least 1 would have to be there at our pick. You never know who will slide on draft day and with all the workouts left. I'm sure my board will change again before the draft.

I think they draft either Porter or Shabazz or they trade the pick either back or out completely for a veteran. My preference is CJM or KCP.

You're right, they did make a big deal about that in the past. But Demps was a rookie GM then and maybe Loomis has made him change some of his stances. However, Burke went to Michigan, Detroit needs a PG, and 2 spots isn't that far to drop back.

I know some NFL teams take or sign the hometown hero. Does this happen as much in the NBA though? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Marcus Thornton brah

A team won't reach for a home town hero, but if they have CJM and Burke equal I'm pretty sure the hometown marketing angle will swing things in Burke's favor.

It's why Cleveland drafted Lebron.

If Saric is not there this is what I would like

McCollum
Len
MCW
KCP

Any of these guys would make me happy.

If we draft McCollum: Is he starting PG? If so, what of Vasquez and Rivers? Is he a bench combo guard? A SG?

I can see McCollum being our Avery Bradley, but with a better outside shot.

I really like McCollum.

D. Rose and the Bulls. Some people thought Beasley would be the better player..

I love Zeller and I think no matter what he'll be solid. But I don't think the team is going to draft a Center. Davis is going to spend more time there, Lopez is decent and we have Anderson. We do need a power player (rebounder and defender), but I don't think any of these guys fit. So they'll go wing or backcourt. McCollum would be alright, can he be a SG?

Also, I'd love for them to take Franklin. I know it is early and he is a bit undersized for SF. But he has almost the same measurables as Shabazz and he is tougher. Maybe if we trade down or add another pick. I think that should be the strategy anyway..
