It is REALLY hard to narrow it down for me at this point. It is all a matter of a) who will be available and b) who the Pelicans like.

I have them listed in no particular order, but these are 11 guys who could go (I find the Pelicans to be incredibly unpredictable this year).

Alex Len
Victor Oladipo
CJ McCollum
Trey Burke
Anthony Bennett
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Cody Zeller
Steven Adams
Michael Carter-Williams
Dennis Schroeder
Shabazz Muhammad

I listed some guys like Oladipo who I don't think will be there. I also listed some darkhorses like Steven Adams and Dennis Schroeder, because they seem to be moving up a lot and I find the Pelicans, as I said, to be unpredictable.

So who do you like? Who do you think it will be? Who do you absolutely hate on this list? Who intrigues you?

(Edit: I forgot Shabazz...added)

I'm starting to hop on the CJ McCollum bandwagon. Also I like KCP as a trade back candidate.

My Pelicans draft board:

1. McLemore
2. Olandipo
3. Porter
4. Noel
5. Len
6. McCollum

If we trade back, all bets are off.

CJ McCollum and KCP

I just need to know where both of those guys fit and where they will get minutes.

If we draft McCollum: Is he starting PG? If so, what of Vasquez and Rivers? Is he a bench combo guard? A SG?

KCP: Is he just going to sit behind Gordon? Can he play some 3?

McLemore and Porter are not options for purposes of this thread as I don't think they are likely to be there. Thank you for your response though, duly noted.

I was a charter member of the King Cobra Posse (malt liquor), so I have a soft spot for KCP.

I know many don't want him but why did you leave out Shabazz? There's a good chance he'll be around when we're picking.

Personally, I want CJ McCollum the most (assuming a guy like Olimpo isn't there). After that, I guess I'd go with Len, MCW and KCP.

Honestly, complete oversight on my part. Clearly, he should be there.

I'll edit, thanks.

I could go for Len, Oladipo, Burke, and McCollum for sure.

6 is too high for Schroeder, considering he's a matchstick who weighs about 160 pounds.

Bennett scares me because of his tweener status. The most likely scenario is that he becomes a stretch 4, which we already have in Anderson.

Adams couldn't handle the speed of the college game at Pitt, which doesn't bode well for him at the NBA level. He'll likely need a lot of D-league time to catch on, if he ever does.

I haven't looked enough at KCP or MCW to judge them yet, mainly because I didn't think we'd need to.

Zeller is kind of an iffy proposition for me. I figure he's got a safe downside, but I wonder at how high his upside is and whether he's capable of being a center rather than a power forward at the NBA level, if we intend to keep Davis at his natural position.

Somebody needs to start a "Everything you ever needed to know about CJ McCollum" thread. I've been paying more attention to Len, Burke and Saric.

Welcome aboard

Really at 6, I don't think there are that many possibilities

Len
Burke
McCollum
Porter
Bennett
MCW

Then if we trade back that opens the door for

KCP
Zeller
Shabazz
Schroeder
etc.

Same here. We need someone who can create their own shot, and McCollum can do that.

If Monty is really on the "fill the needs" bandwagon, you'd have to think porter and shabazz are on the top of the list

That's the reason for him wanting Saric, yes?

I want Mcollum really really bad like all of you, but what about Vasquez, Rivers, & Glassboy. Basically where would CJ Mcollum fit in.

From what I remember, that isn't too high on Monty's priority list. (See MT5)
The real question, is how is his defense?

I would assume so. If Porter falls on draft day you'd have to think we'd take him at 6, right?

Unless they see C as a need to and go with Len

Honestly when it is all said and done Alex Len will be a New Orleans Pelican.
