Because right now all I see is Kosta Koufos v. 2.0

They couldn't really frick this draft up and pass on Burke for this guy. Right?

I just don't get the Len hype. Zeller played on a bigger stage, with way more pressure and was a better player all year. He is very advanced offensively and would be a perfect compliment to Davis in the future. Why does no one bring him up? If we are going to go Center, why not go with the guy that can score right away?

I wouldn't hate picking Zeller, but those numbers are in 3 more minutes and 1.5 more shot attempts than Len. Len seems to be a fairly significantly better shotblocker.

The %'s are better though and he was the focal point of the offense. I'd even bet a lot of Oladipo's success came off Zeller's back. He does need defensive improvement, but Davis is going to back there to clean up. I'd rather the more advanced offensive guy with better upside.

Ceiling.

College stats are great but it's a different game in the NBA. It's why Andre Drummonds of the world get drafted over guys like Myers Leonard and Tyler Zeller

No. Zeller isn't a true center.

I'm not sure how true this is. He has Center size, plays Center and is still growing. Besides, Davis will be ready to play more Center as he develops. So having someone that can compliment his abilities and alternate positions is only a positive.

Here is some news from Zellers latest workout (LINK ). The guy is an awesome athlete and a better prospect than his brother, who is not a bad player. I just don't see him busting.

I happen to like Zeller too. If they project Davis to play some C and they see the offense becoming more uptempo w/ Rivers as a pg, Zeller is a great fit. Those two bigs running the floor would do some damage. Obviously light on d, but if they get better athletes on the perimeter, you can, for the most part, scheme around that

But I dont see Monty ever having an up and down team. He is a grinder and a thick anchor makes sense for whomever they get at C

Zeller has the arm length of a WNBA center. His role in the NBA will be more of a athletic stretch 4.

Davis is a 4 and the Pelicans want a true center next to him.

He is a legit 7 footer with a good wingspan, and solid frame with room to put on more weight.

He has shown good offense potential with his back to the basket along with a mid-range jumper.
He has shown very good athleticism for someone his size, can play above the rim.
He also has shown promise as a defensive player, he blocks shots and is able to hold his own down on the block better than some other bigs in the draft (Zeller, Noel, Gobert).
He bested the better centers he faced this year in Noel and Plumlee.

He was very inconsistent at Maryland some of that was his teammates but some of that should be on him for not playing better against lesser teams.
He had surgery on his foot last month and having foot problems have been a problem in the past for players his size, that could be a red flag.
He didn't put up big numbers this season and he's a potential guy like a Drummond last year who didn't stuff the box score but just watching him you could see the potential was there.

I like Burke but if Demps takes him @ 6 I wouldn't be upset.
