they're saying Covington would be a Dome team if this was last year

West Monroe and Barbe would've beat them by 4 touchdowns.

that's being conservative too... they have McDowell, but who else? no playoff wins in a decade, they lost a key transfer to st. paul's, changed coaches after spring ball

it's one thing to put them high bc there's a reason to, but NOLA is taking a spot away from a team who might deserve it

Rummel should thank Barbe for saving them. West Monroe's offense was rolling at the end of the year. That loss was literally a miracle for Barbe and Rummel.

That was a factor for the playoff split as well, I'm sure.. even if it wasn't a major player for it.

So you're saying Rummel would have just layed over and conceded defeat to WM?

That would have been the better championship game last year, but it is what it is. Tell WM to recover an onside kick.

Barbe's offense >>> WM offense

Eh, in terms of passing plays and big strikes yes. In terms of overall efficiency from game to game in a playoff environment no. If WM would have beat Barbe, they would have beat Rummel by 10+. WM will never lose to CHS or Rummel in the playoffs, they are setup to beat those teams.

Barbe averaged 39 PPG in 4 playoff games leading up to Rummel game

West Monroe 34PPG

not sure what you're trying to say. they were prolific and efficient all year long. they were the best offensive team in the state, hands down.

They proved that by scoring 21 or 28 unanswered against WM. However much it was.

rummel held them to 14. They may have shut out West monroe

Look man im not trying to put down Rummel at all, they were great. But west monroe would have controlled the rock and beaten Rummel by 10+ in my opinion. I have seen them do it too many times.

If it were that easy, they would have done it against Barbe.

they'd have to get 1st downs vs Rummel which would have been difficult.

I know what you are saying, but you cant always say b/c team A beat team B and Team B beat C, that team A will def beat C. As a CHS alum, until i see one of the Catholic schools beat West Monroe, i will always pick them to win. For whatever reason, the catholic schools are fine with the public schools that play a smaller faster style such as Barbe, but cant ever get it done against WM

i think Rummel has only played WM once. They were clearly the worst team that night. That was a Rummel team that over achieved.

their 2012 team actually had D-1 talent all over the field. Both offense and defense. They had more talent than WM, and a better defense last year.

That Rummel defense was considered one of the best ever. They gave up no touchdowns leading up to the dome, which was even better than this years. And yet WM was able to move the ball up and down the field all game long. I have also seen a CHS team led by Applewhite and minor that was ranked #1 in the nation, get Tommy Banks'd all game long. I think it is the overall size and depth of WM that hurts

ETA: Dont get me wrong, i would have been cheering my arse off for Rummel, i just think they would've lost.
